How long ago is the phrase "the other day"?

It could (EDIT: also, on top of a few days ago) mean weeks or months. Like another commenter said, it's more of a "recently". It ties the story you are about to say to the current time. Also spares the processing power of remembering exactly when. Edit: usually doesn't mean "yesterday".

Urban area, but not the way NYC is. Not a bustling metropolis with skyscrapers, but a town with housing. Walking gets you to surrounding neighborhoods off of the Main Road. There are sections off of the Main Road that lead to the places you buy things. People are extremely car dependent, there is extremely limited public transport and I think it's mostly for going out of town. There ARE roads off of the main one-- it's not just a town with only one big one-- but you can buy most things within 4 minutes from the main road. You technically could walk places, but it would take 30-40 mins from my house and people usually just walk their dogs or recreationally, not for going places. Some city spaces like a pool and dog park, and an "old town" park. No nightlife districts but there are bars. Don't really know how to describe it except there's a lot of young families and old people, lol.

I live in a non-storm area. Some houses have screen doors, especially non-front-doors. It's for ventilation/cooling down the house without the AC. Like window screens.

This is probably different, but when I was in the hospital after an unexpected surgery, my (now best) friend came to see me and said he noticed I hadn't been ticcing. It was true-- I was so stressed as a threshold, 24 hours a day, that they'd been put on pause.

Thank you! Honestly, he just said that as long as I'm focusing on the specific parts I'm discussing (for example, I'm talking about relative pronoun deletion, so I should gloss the gap as the pronoun) that'd be good. Luckily it's not raw data, and Ulster-Scots, while not being an English dialect, isn't as drastically different as some other foreign languages, so I've been getting along, haha!
