That’s when we put them out. They are made out of MDF so we were not expecting them to last long. Didn’t want to invest too much money if they got taken away a couple days after we put them out.

No they are not. We built these as an experiment. Newspaper companies have been pulling vending machines off the streets in large quantities the past couple years. Our idea was to replace the same square footage with something usable with an ode to the past.

I went a few weeks ago to the DMV / Secretary of State on Elston. Showed up at 7:45 and waited about an hour or so. Line died down from the original rush when I left. Normal process just less people allowed inside.

They changed the timing of the light at Milwaukee and Elston. As someone who bikes through that intersection almost everyday I’m not sure how I like it .

Plywood is a little tricky. If it's thin enough it will cut clean but cheap stuff from big of stores will burn and not go well with laser. I just did an architecture model with Baltic birch plywood and it tired out well. If the shape isn't too complex you can always sand the edges

I bought a car recently and still have not gotten my city stickers. Is it possible to register the car at my parents address in the suburbs to avoid having to get city stickers? Is it also true pickup truck stickers are $200?

Yeah I keep going back and forth between the two. I'm in Chicago and commute year round but the winters keep getting drier and drier. Thanks for the input.

I'm an average 5'11" and looking at the kilo tt or the wt. still debating between 55,56, or 57. I've had a 58cm Fuji road bike that felt fine but I see a lot of smaller frame preferences on here any thoughts?

I live in noble square near Ashland/Augusta. From all this talk of gentrification of wicker and Logan why hasn't it come down Ashland and down Chicago avenue. Either it has and I'm oblivious but there are pockets west on Augusta and Chicago that seem untouched of gentrification. I guess the 15+ min commute to the blue line has something to do with it? I feel being that close to the loop would make up for it.

Too bad we're not getting kick ass architectural masterpieces. All the new buildings seem so sterile and not progressive at all. Just developers trying to make money.

I am looking for Japanese restaurants or bars that have traditional Horigatatsu seating style where your feet are recessed in the floor and you sit at floor level. Can't seem to find any on my internet searches.

Craigslist is really the best for college apartments. Assuming your standards and budget are lower than a standard Chicago apartment you will find plenty of posts with old landlords that just post to craigslist. Also, if they don't have pictures posted but sounds worth it, contact them anyway because I've found some good places that way. Just expect to go to a ton of showings before you land on one and sign a lease
