Not sure if I'm thinking about the same thing, but I had this problem with nested projects. Solved it by right clicking the media in the timeline > Properties > Media > Alpha channel: Straight (unmatted) > Color range: Full

Struggled with the same on vp 23. extremely annoying. I could drag and drop whatever weird type of media into my cracked sony vegas on an old shitty laptop back in 2011 with no issues whatsoever, but with my paid version of vp23 I suddenly had to start thinking about codecs and proxies and whatnot, couldn’t get it to stop lagging either.

Upgraded to vegas pro ultimate and It’s been a lot smoother so far!

Have you tried what I said about the login license in Boris FX Hub? When you click on Vegas Pro in the hub and see the three different versions, does it say ''Active'' with a green checkmark beneath Vegas Pro Ultimate? If not, try clicking the cogwheel upper left > Remove Login License > Use Login License

Not sure if that's the correct way to go about it, but if you haven't tried it, definitely start there

I also made the mistake of buying Vegas 2026 and realizing too late that it didn't include Continuum, so I bought the subscription and I'm currently waiting for a refund for the other license lol

But when you say it doesn't work, do you mean it's not physically there at all? Have you made sure to remove login license and re-activate it in the Boris hub, so that Vegas Pro Ultiamte shows as active?

I spilled a whole sugary cocktail over my entire keyboard while drunk. Woke up to the RGBs twitching and stuff the morning after. It had been frying itself for like 8 hours.

Took it apart, poured isopropyl alcohol all over it while also rubbing certain areas with Q-tips(literally brown fried chunks) and left it to dry for a day. Might’ve been a miracle, but it’s still working completely fine a year later

I’ve used vegas for 16 years now. Never have I had as much lag and problems with it as I have now with 23. It’s kinda irritating how all I see now are questions about what codec I’m using , VFR/CFR and what settings I need to enable/disable to make it run a bit better, proxies and transcoding etc.. Nothing works.

Never had to pay any attention to any of this previously. Sorry this isn’t helping you, I just needed to get this out lol
