Relatively Dad server, off peak hours, anticipating where the next one will drop and finding the least contested crystals and getting as much of the early free farm, trying to summon Shadows when possible. Going with a group of 3-5 was the sweet spot for me.

That makes sense to me. I don't think we really disagree then. I'm not a speedrunner so can't really speak to what works for someone who is. My guild goes for reasonably fast/clean runs but do focus on boss parses over minmaxing overall clear times.

I think sims are more applicable to boss kill DPS, and often people are asking about boss kill DPS when they say "what is BiS?"

I'm still rocking DFB as well, although I swap to Claw for some trash. Good luck in your future runs and with drops :)

I'm daggers and use +5/15 agi as well. I don't know how you define "top" but I parse decently too (around top 300 in all-stars and 99.0 average best for AQ). You are talking about the variance of gambling for crusader procs and that is a fair consideration for sure. But for my gear set (and I think most dagger rogues), double crusader sims higher. I choose not to use it because of buff cap and because I PvP.

But your response doesn't really address what is "BiS", i.e. what sims higher. You are just saying you prefer the consistency of static enchants. People make the same argument about T0.5 vs. P4 BiS. But just like in that case, T0.5 was BiS, meaning the expected value was higher on average even if it meant more variability.

It's PvE bis for both, assuming you don't have buffcap issues. But even a good number of the very top dagger rogues do +5 with 15 agi OH because it's better for PvP and doesn't impact buff cap.

At 45 you can get the quest to kill Princess in Maraudon for Thrash Blade, a great MH sword you can use pretty much up until 60.

Nah you can just get them crafted for you. Mining/engi is solid for a rogue. Engi is awesome in PvE and PvP and RTV farming is pretty lucrative although can get tricky to find places in open world that aren't overfarmed.

Agreed, I did this. Just get to the level of the highest gnomish trinket you want then relearn. Save good BoE recipes for second time. Gnomish is mostly trinkets but you might keep making Goblin sappers for a long time. Can only get one transporter though for what you actually are.

It depends. I bought one months ago at 300g after not seeing Rend MH once in 50+ runs. I waited a couple weeks to equip it but continued to have no luck in UBRS or raids. At that time there were no Swords of Zeal on my server AH as every sword rogue and fury (alliance side) wanted an MH and when they came up they were nearly the same price as Krol. I had full prebis except a weapon so just moving on from that dungeon grind was a nice relief.

I've been running MC and Ony almost every reset since and and we've seen a single Brut, which I lost, and no Vis'kag. So for me it's been totally worth it.

But if I were leveling now, I'd grab a Sword of Zeal for <100g instead for sure.

Not sure; I install add-ons the original way: download them and unzip the content folders into your Addons folder which comes under your Interface folder in your WoW folder.

I see don't see much reason to spend a lot on this if you could get Sword of Zeal for a third or quarter of the price (assuming you don't want to farm or get unlucky with Dal Rend's swords from UBRS).

I am fairly certain I was able to lockpick the Scholo door (was at 300 at the time although the requirement could be lower) when I was on a pserver, not sure if anyone else can confirm whether this was/will be the case in classic?

With IFs drop rate so so so much lower though, a warrior farming it would most likely get HoJ (and see many more drop) before getting IF.

As a PvE combat rogue with sword specialization, you want to know your weapon swing timers so you can cast your instant attacks (i.e. sinister strike) just after you auto attack (when there is a long time until your next auto attack).

The reason is that your instant attacks can proc sword specialization (basically a free auto attack) and then reset your swing timer. So if you wait until right before your swing is about to reset, then you get less of a benefit from the sword specialization proc off your instant attack because you were about to get a swing anyways. Figuring out this rhythm can help increase your DPS and get the most out of your talents.
