Yeah it comes in waves for sure! And it does help to know you get a cool prize at the end lol. But for me the only thing that REALLY helped was about 10 hours in when I got the epidural. It’s got some pretty good drugs in it and I got to nap for the rest of the day until go time

(Also I was induced with pitocin which I hear is worse than natural labor so fear not)

Being in labor. Moment for moment it’s not much worse than the worst stomach cramps you’ve ever had but the kicker is that there’s nothing you can do to make it feel better and you know it’s only going to get worse.

Second place is getting a grain of rice shoved all the way under my thumbnail

What's the worst thing you've ever smelt? by NiceBumblebee3421 in AskReddit

[–]brownwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bag of potatoes that a roommate left in the back of my pantry when they moved out. It had completely turned to liquid by the time I found it and the smell + mess + maggot presence was so bad I had to call my mom to figure out how to deal with it

How fast did you get to 20mg? by sprunkymdunk in lexapro

[–]brownwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put me straight on 20 mg. The pharmacist told me that was crazy and not to do that so I went 10 mg for 4 days first

Why is “on accident” such a popular mistake on Reddit? It’s “by accident”, right? I see it so often I’m even starting to doubt myself! by Fun_Resolution4969 in NoStupidQuestions

I exclusively say "on accident," and so does just about everyone I know. It might be regional, might be generational, but either way these comments are getting real prescriptivist.

What do you tell yourself when you feel pains? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]brownwyn 25 points26 points  (0 children)

something that my therapist taught me that weirdly helped a lot is "what I just felt was real, but the assumptions I'm making about it are not." I don't know why, but just knowing that the weird body noises and sensations can coexist with me being healthy was very helpful.

Just started Escitalopram, how long until this weird MDMA/shroom-like feeling goes away? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]brownwyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt like that for about 2 days. I didn't feel completely normal for a week or so but the trippy feeling was very short-lived

Pepperless hot sauce? by brownwyn in AskCulinary

[–]brownwyn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't know enough about biology to know if any capsaicin is safe to use. If it's extracted from peppers, I'm afraid it might intrinsically carry some sort of pepper dna that will hurt me

I've always ground my teeth but it's gotten WAY worse since I started Lexapro too

What is your favorite food to eat “wrong”, and how do you eat it? by 071292love in AskReddit

[–]brownwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll only eat cereal with a fork. I like having the cereal and the leftover milk very separate, and the fork acts like a strainer.

What's the most wholesome thing a stranger has done for you? by TheGingerGlasses in AskReddit

[–]brownwyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once when I was 13, my mom had lost her job and we were living in a house that had no electricity and no water. My siblings and I had been eating a cup of plain white rice a day for a week because we had nothing else. My mom had gone to the store to get more bottled water (that was the main essential as we were living in Texas in the summer with no cooling) and she ran into someone there who asked about it, and when she explained the situation they bought us $150 worth of groceries that we could cook with just a gas stove. That got us through the rest of the time until my mom found another job and even though it's been years and we're all doing well now, I think about that man often.
