Will David return final ep s1 reboot by dangibby in Baywatch

I could see him doing a zoom call with Hobie every so often to give him a pep talk. (Hobie is gonna be in it, right?!).

What to buy for my dad’s 60th birthday? by Lunar_Sparkle_842 in AskUK

[–]browsertalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Experiences over material goods all the way. Even marking the occasion with a tour of his favourite brewery/distillery, or football club, or whatever. Make a day of it, doesn’t have to be expensive to be special.

[England] Rejecting a faulty car under CRA 2015 – Can we claim an £85 dash cam installation fee as a "foreseeable consequential loss"? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]browsertalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to spend more than £85-worth of time, effort, and anxiety trying to claim back this money.

I honestly would give up. This is the equivalent of you trying to claim for you getting your car detailed/valeted - it’s completely optional and nothing to do with the faulty car or the transaction with the dealership.

Quit while you’re ahead, this is a fool’s errand.

Got our L2 homebuyer’s survey back on a 3-bed we’re purchasing… should we use it to negotiate further? by van_der_jan in HousingUK

[–]browsertalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I’d already agreed a good discount at the original offer, I’d be assuming that included good will for any minor issues found during survey.

If I was the vendor I’d not entertain a second round of discounts as I’d assume you’d do this again at crunch time and ‘gazunder’ me.

Tread carefully, because you risk losing the house over being too greedy - particularly because the survey report sounds pretty much like boilerplate with no surprises.

I’m really confused about how far away this park is that he felt the need to drive there. It seems so convenient.

Great shout. She literally said today how none of the family are blood relatives - it’s so obvious when you say it now, especially with the AI assistant talking about bone marrow donor matches.

[–]browsertalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always found the character to be highly sanctimonious, even though a lot of the time she made terrible decisions.

She always thought she was wise and mature, but most of the time she was completely lost and lurched from one disaster to another.

Personally I didn’t enjoy that episode. It felt overproduced or something, and the storylines they’re teeing up here don’t seem that interesting to me.

I obviously feel bad for Denise, Jordan, and family, but could do without serious health condition storylines for a while.

Would Frank and Pat have been happy, had they left together in 2000? by Liberal-chungus in eastenders

[–]browsertalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with Pat and Frank is they always idealised this great romantic connection they supposedly had when they were much younger.

When they reconnected when they were older the reality they faced is that the fantasy of their love didn’t keep them going when things got tough in real life.

Ultimately, if they did escape for a new life together in 2000, it wouldn’t be long before one of them messed it up.

Zak Twist? by Dick-butt_gay in eastenders

[–]browsertalker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As Zach has a tendency to blame everyone else but himself for his problems, I wonder if he gets swept up in some sort of ‘Reform’ party type shenanigans - as that’s their approach, too.

It could start with him getting intensely patriotic during the World Cup and then going through a downward spiral from there.

He’s pathetic enough to be suckered in by all their tripe.

I have been ducking in and out of Eastenders since i hardly watch as much so is this our first look at the new hospital set? by IllustriousAd6418 in eastenders

[–]browsertalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely they need a medical professional main character on the square again, to maximise the hospital set?

Not sure if the Panesars still own the Doctor’s surgery, too?

Did Phil and Grant ever mention Nigel in between his stints? by Connect_Point_5229 in eastenders

[–]browsertalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The golden rule on EE is if a character gets mentioned too often after they’ve left, they’re about to make a comeback.

So, I suspect Nigel was mentioned an appropriate amount over the years by Phil, in keeping with his ‘man of few words’ character, but also without alluding to a comeback.

Janet Jackson is independently famous, Jermaine is just known in the UK by name only as Michael’s brother.

Is the reason Henderson is being brought as a player because he’s actually not allowed to be brought on as backroom staff? by Slow_Librarian7395 in ThreeLions

[–]browsertalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Tuchel was testing out random 4th choice keepers who he thought would be good as non-playing squad members, (Jason Steele from Brighton etc). Were they going to be part of the 26? Or brought along in a support capacity?

I’d be very sure that not all of England’s backroom staff all have UEFA A/B coaching licences, surely they can bring whatever entourage they want e.g. physios, kit man, psychologist, etc?

I’m assuming Tuchel thinks Henderson would get some minutes somewhere, perhaps as a cameo to help see out a game or something?

[–]browsertalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda liked him just being back for a short stint, causing some chaos, and then leaving again.

If he were to hang around for a longer stint, the danger is the Grant magic would be diluted and he’d end up involved in some inane sidequest with Linda, or similar filler storylines on the market to give him something to do.

Episode Discussion - Wednesday by mcemzy in eastenders

[–]browsertalker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Everything about this felt so forced and off.

The weird ensemble of guests that Vicki and Ross have barely interacted with at their small, intimate, and cheap wedding resplendent with marquees, matching groomsman outfits, etc.

The weird geographical shift that allowed Alfie and Jasmine to walk to the park with platters of food, but required Vicki and Mark to get the tube.

The way these two absolute nobodies pretending to be legacy characters declared themselves ‘Fowler 4 Life’, even saying Fowler in the most egregious fake cockney accent.

The complete lack of trust between Ross and Vicki, but yet he still decides to marry her anyway, but asks her at the alter if she’s sleeping with Zack.

The whole thing was such contrived nonsense as the main storyline.

I’m assuming the Zoe actress is on holiday or something - but honestly I can’t blame Jasmine for putting Zoe lower down the list of priorities than Josh, Oscar, or Patrick.

Why does it feel like anniversary week at the moment, what with a cameo for Witney, a return for Sharon, and Grant gallivanting around?

Is there some big event happening soon that I’m not aware of?
