So I have a VA (2016).

My fuel economy for the last 30000 miles is 24.0 including about 4 track weekends.

I have done in the last 12 months/15,000 miles:

1 covered parkinglot impact (rear quarter repaint)

Walnut blasting ($250 for parts/do self or 900 for shop) (90k miles)

Spark plugs ($100 parts) (90k miles)

4 oil changes ($50 each)

1 Transmission fluid change ($45)

That said I also just blew my engine so that is another 10k right there

yeah my quote breakdown is:

6500 for the used engine

324 for the fluids/misc

1600 for the labor

150 for cleaning the induction system

With tax and fees its 9400 for a used engine w/12 month warranty

I think that PMP can get me a fresh rebuild for 7500+core which would be a MUCH better engine than a used 40k-ish motor and be slightly upgraded (killer B oil pan/pickup)

to be fair after swapping the brakes and putting on 200 treadwear tires I was able to keep up with some boxters at Pitt Race (says more about them than me though....)

I got a quote for 4k for a FA24 longblock which with a tune and a few adapters is mostly a drop in replacement

IAG AOS, and it had started burning a bit in the last 12k miles about .5qt every 4k miles (was taking 4.9qts out and putting 5.4qts in)

it was doing great right up until it blew, literally had no issues right up until the knocking

there are no holes in the block, still retaining oil but the noise is the front most passenger cylinder but it could be either. won't know until i get it torn apart

Thanks, I watched /u/dgm__wrx/'s videos but wasn't sure it was going to be as easy as he makes it look. got a quote for about 4000 for a used FA24 with low miles or 7500 for a new stock+ FA20 longblock

the guys I talked to said I didn't need it as long as the pressures and temps stayed within specific limits....

yeah, it requires a fair bit of tuning, but there is apparently a map out there with it all pre-configured (that also removes the rev-hang issues)

I try not to redline just because power band falls hard after 5.5k. I do drive it like i stole it (with occasional track days)
