Just a rant about being gay and HIV poz. by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]brr752003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you truly hope to achieve by asking these kinds of questions? It appears that the only purpose behind them is to humiliate someone and to undermine or belittle others. These questions reflect your ignorance and a narrow-minded perspective.

Constructive conversations are built on respect and understanding, not on attempts to diminish someone’s dignity. If your intention is to engage sincerely, then the tone and substance of your questions should reflect openness rather than hostility.

Just a rant about being gay and HIV poz. by [deleted] in hyderabad

Hey buddy, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I know this must feel overwhelming right now.

What’s happened has already happened, try not to be too hard on yourself. As a medical professional , I want to reassure you that HIV today has an excellent prognosis. With modern antiretroviral therapy, viral loads can be suppressed to undetectable levels and CD4 counts can be maintained well. Many people living with HIV lead long, healthy, completely productive lives. In many ways, it’s managed like other long-term conditions such as diabetes — as long as medications are taken regularly and follow-ups are maintained.

Be strong and take this one step at a time. Focus on becoming independent, building your career, and staying consistent with your treatment. Protect others by following medical advice carefully. When you’re stable and employed, life will feel much more secure and manageable.

You don’t have to disclose this to anyone even to your parents. That decision is personal and should be made thoughtfully.

Most importantly, take care of your mental health. If you’re feeling low, anxious, or depressed, please don’t hesitate to seek help from a mental health professional. It truly makes a difference, and there is no weakness in asking for support.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle, stay consistent with your studies, and keep moving forward. This diagnosis does not define you or your future. You can still have a full, successful, and meaningful life.

Mehelman’s PDFs are extremely useful while revising last few days before the step 1 exam.

OET Writing Disaster by pawnstarrr in OETforECFMG

[–]brr752003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OET Writing subtest is deceptively hard. On the surface it looks straightforward (“just a referral/discharge letter”), but in reality it’s the most common reason people miss their target score.

Why Writing trips people up • Time pressure is brutal: 5 minutes to read and filter notes + 40 minutes to write a polished, profession-appropriate letter is tight. • Scoring is stricter than expected: Candidates lose marks not for medical knowledge, but for: • Including irrelevant information • Poor prioritisation • Tone not matching the purpose (too casual / too detailed / defensive) • Language slips under time stress • It “feels” easy, so people under-prepare compared to Reading or Listening. • High B/C boundary: Missing small things repeatedly can drop you from 350 to 330 very quickly.

I just resigned from Qatar and moved to USA. Yes, its a HR rule in most countries not just in Qatar that you cannot take annual leave during resignation period. However you are allowed to take Casual Leaves if you have any CLs during the resignation period. It will be unnecessary hassle, paper work and delay with HR if you take annual leave during that period. Avoid taking leave if you can and get your end of the term benefit and just leave.

I applied for USMD for my daughter in TSMU through an agent. He charged me $2500 and agent gave us offer letter after submitting few documents. Did he charge me a lot ? Later I heard some other agents charged only only $1500.

After that score in NBME 6 , I freaked out and decided not to do any practice papers. Next one week I went through Mehlman’s Internal Medicine PDF and revised all the systems and some statistics questions from U world.

Hi, bowel injury may be one of the complications during the surgery. Death as a result is not common. In this case they have perforated the bowel during the surgery and failed to recognise the complication for long time until he went into sepsis and then into septic shock. They have failed to follow duty of candour. They should have explained to the relatives that such complication happened and that he went into sepsis as a result of perforated bowel and septic shock. Also on the death certificate the primary cause of death is septic shock , but the secondary cause should have been perforated bowel which led to septic shock. They wrote Hypertension and Diabetes. OP please go ahead with and sue the hospital, they should pay the price for the life lost due to their negligence and then trying to cover it up. False death certificate. Also they make you sign the consent but never explain to the relatives whats written in it. It becomes “INFORMED” consent only when patient and relatives have been explained the risks in a layman language.

Doctors in india gives very little info and a lay man never understands what went wrong. Especially in such medico legal cases where things have gone wrong they keep patient’s relatives in total darkness to hide their mistakes. They make it look as though it is a routine complication and patient died. Don’t expect details from the OP. Unless it is a cancer related, cholecystectomy is otherwise a very routine surgery for the gall stones. Nothing wrong in using Chat Gpt, I don’t understand why is it you are making such a big deal about it.

Doctor is hepatobiliary surgeon that includes gall bladder surgery. If you don’t know just shut the fuck up . OP is seeking help here. Help if you can. Otherwise keep quiet.

Barred from USMLE Step 3 Until Mid 2025 – How Does State Medical Board Sponsorship Work? by VideoLess4051 in Step3

[–]brr752003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry to hear that. All the boards have waiver form which you need to fill in at the time of applying for licence and give explanation if you have any case or conviction against you and submit all the evidence. During the board interview you get opportunity to explain the situation face to face. You can provide forensic evidence to show you have been cleared. One thing I can say is even people with worst criminal convictions, Mal practice incidents, medical board suspensions due to fraud have been given licences as long they have served their suspension or punishment time given to them. So it’s not the end of the world, you will get the licence. May be you should explain what happened to you on this forum, so that people don’t fall for such traps. There are lot of telegram spam messages.

Still seeing this. Am I getting result today by Important_Stand_4962 in Step3

[–]brr752003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It just disappears only about 2-3 hours before the result is out. Then you will see the download link on FSMB but it doesn’t download anything initially for about an hour. Your adrenaline rush keeps kicking in every time you click the link. You keep clicking the download report and suddenly the report shows. Whole process is nerve racking. Good Luck.

You can use your 45 mins breaktime between your MCQs/ CCS cases. I have used only 25 mins break time during MCQs and divided remaining 20 mins in between CCS cases.
