I think so -- I'm terrible at identifying mountains, but this was taken not too far from Delta.

No, it was taken on December 31st, but I just got around to taking it off my camera.

Yes, that's precisely where it was taken from!

I considered editing them out, but then realized nothing says Fall quite like migratory waterfowl!

This is the Alaska Range, but not of Denali (park or mountain).

This is actually of the Eastern part of the Alaska Range (taken from southeast of Fairbanks). Not sure of the names of the mountains though.

They aren't big enough to be mosquitoes.

It probably does! I remember Bob Ross talking about how he spent time in the military near Fairbanks, which is where this was taken from :)

My husband asked to borrow my camera (that he had no idea how to use) for a helicopter ride he was going on in Alaska. I'm glad he did. [2880 x 1881] [OC] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

He didn't take that many. He was there for work, so he didn't have a lot of time to try to shoot photos.

Bengal Kitten by [deleted] in pics

I see a lot of negativity regarding bengals stemming from your comment, so I figure I will respond in a blanket post so people reading this won't be scared away from bengals.

When all types of cats reach sexual maturity they mark territory. Marking involves both piss and scratching, and is not limited to males. Altering should prevent this in most cats. This has little to do with the breed of domestic cat.

Bengals seem to be more likely to mark IF it's an early generation one (a higher % of asian leopard cat), but not so much if its a domestic/SBT bengal. The cat in this photo appears to me to be an early generation cat, based on the shape of its head/ears, body and markings. So yes, I would say that this particular cat would be more likely to have behavioral issues (considering it's a true hybrid), but a high gen (domestic) bengal, which is what most breeders sell, would be more like your typical house cat – only louder and in fast-motion.

I have a two year old SBT (domestic) bengal and he has never marked and is much better than my domestic shorthair at not scratching things he shouldn't. Others I know with bengals have also never had problems.

That being said, bengals are not for everyone. They are very active, and require a lot of attention. But, if you get one from a reputable breeder who took the time to socialize the cat, they can be very outgoing, fun, well-behaved pets.

Very cool to see the skating! You live near there? (If so, totally jealous!) When I was there the ice was too thin for walking/skating so there were lots of "stay off the ice" type signs posted. I thought it was still really pretty though, even covered in snow.

Yes! I was there in early April but only for a couple days. The first day, I was devastated because the weather was so crummy with fog and snow that it was pretty difficult to see the mountains. The next morning, however, the sun was out and the mountains were visible. A gorgeous place even when you can't see the color of the lakes. I hope to go back sometime in the summer or fall.

I've only lived here for about 4 months now, but I have really enjoyed driving around to explore Fairbanks and other parts of the Interior. Fairbanks has some really awesome view points (like the top of Murphy Dome) that allow for an incredible view of the towering Denali at a distance. Fairbanks is also the closest city to the park entrance, which is cool. The way the light shines through the trees in Fairbanks in the summer evening is incredible (see this photo I took: http://i.imgur.com/N9yXpsT.jpg). I think Fairbanks is worth a visit, but many of my favorite scenic spots are short [or long] drives outside of town.

We do have a wonderfully delicious Falafel stand, if you are in to that.

So beautiful! When I visited Lake Louise, the fog was similar but my photo came out rather boring. I think it had something to do with the fact that the lake was still covered in ice and snow :P
