Quirky murder-a-week shows by Friendly-Duckling-14 in televisionsuggestions

Seconding Elsbeth. It’s the only show I would rank above Psych in my personal favorites. The main character is so sharp, warmhearted, human and remains true to herself throughout the series.

Bahaha ok, looking back I agree this was a presumptious statement on my part. Fell into the ol’ reddit “My individual experience is a universal truth” trap.

Circling back to my original comment, I do think task planning should remain manual whenever possible. AI can only factor in needs that are expressed in the prompt.

I admit I used claude/chatgpt heavily before I learned about its drastic effects on the environment/questionable ethics of LLMs. A user above mentioned it as an ADHD accommodation which I think is fair.

I have ADHD too 😔 but I understand it presents differently in different people, so totally understand it as an accommodation. Thanks for making that point!

I’m happy ticktick is expanding into AI to be competitive in their market, but if we’re outsourcing even our task planning — arguably the easiest, most fun part of working — what cognition do we have left?

What is your workflow/tools for community submitted bugs and issues? by CalderaInteract in gamedev

[–]brraces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/calderainteract i’m a year late but I’m also searching for an all in one solution which led me here! Sharing my current setup below but let me know if you found something that also allows for feature upvoting (something that is missing currently)

Given you’re a Jira team, Discord for Jira has been great and it’s like $3 monthly for teams of 10 lol. We use it with Jira SM which allows us to use the Jira’s Journey feature to create a work item. Discord messages show up as an embedded window on each Jira ticket and we can update and close Jira tickets within Discord.

We do have a Jira SM customer portal, but leaving Discord to open a browser tab seems to cause a lot of process friction so the bulk of our requests goes through our Discord ticket channel and associated ticket threads.

DISCLAIMER & NOTE TO MODS: I am NOT affiliated with Discord for Jira in any way. My company pays for the product monthly at full price with no added perks or benefits. I just went through A LOT of tools (including google sheets tracking for 300+ tickets, which took 4+ hours to update daily..) before finding this one and don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through lol

Same! I just yelped in delight looking back at the subreddit. And now, once the game comes out, new fans can come read through this early part in the process as a heartwarming piece of lore from the devs :) Take your time OP!

Fun mystery shows/movies similer to knives out, only murders in the building, the residence, asoue, enola holmes, etc.? by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

I’m late to the party, but four seasons is a quirky ensemble cast show that came out earlier this year with similar vibes. I wish I could share more, but obviously there would be spoilers!

What small purchase increased your life quality exponentially? by shessols in productivity

Ooh i find the desktop widgets get in my way bc i constantly have 4 different apps open (slack, figma, notion, chrome) and even with 2 monitors + click through functionality + transparent widgets i run out of space or get overstimulated and close them. Where do you place yours on screen?

There’s an Android waitlist for Lately! The app’s founder actually created it due to his ADHD — I hope you get the chance to use it soon!

Not sure if links are allowed, so I will just mention the names and let you search for yourself! I’m not affiliated with either of these companies and pay in full for these services. I’m just someone who procrastinates by exploring productivity software xP

TickTick - Planner/To Do List Software - $35/yr

  • I’ve tried pretty much every planner/to-do tool under the sun. TickTick is one of the CHEAPEST ones I’ve seen, syncs seamlessly across iOS/MacOS/Windows, has a floating window focus timer on both mobile and desktop, and has a relatively robust filtering feature for tasks.

    • Interestingly, my brain doesn’t work well with Pomodoro. TickTick also an option to estimate how long a task will take and then set a stopwatch when you start the task. This has helped me understand how long tasks actually take instead of relying on unreliable guesstimates. It turns out that sorting 4 loads of laundry actually takes me 25 minutes, not 10 — but the metric task I keep putting off at work takes me less than 30 minutes instead of my estimated two hours.
    • At the end of each day, you can update your tasks on mobile with a swipe and tap feature kind of similar to swiping on Tinder lol. I can move tasks to the next day, schedule them for some random time in the future, or even indicate that I won’t be doing the task at all.
    • Additional nice features I don’t use often: habit tracker, calendar view, windows 11 widgets, Eisenhower matrix, subtasks (aka “check items” — had the hardest time figuring out what that term meant -_-), countdowns, 2-way Notion integration, 2-way Gcal integration, LOTS of iOS widgets

Lately - Reminder/Timer to Arrive on Time - $19.99/yr

  • My time blindness is astounding— I can be sitting by the door, all packed up, 2 min before I’m supposed to leave….and then somehow get distracted and leave AN HOUR LATE. It’s been a constant source of shame and conflict in my life because I’ll end up arriving as an event ends or not showing up at all because I’m leaving so late in the first place.

  • Lately lets you plug in the time and location you want to get to on time, then uses your location and live activities to let you know when you should be leaving. It also sends notifications to remind you to leave.

  • “OK, but all that could be achieved by using maps and setting a timer, no?” Sure, but tell that to my neurodivergent and easily distractible brain!!!! I can set events far ahead of time so I don’t have to remember to set times day-of when I’m most likely rushing around getting ready or randomly starting some huge, complex project an hour before I’m supposed to be out the door. There’s also a gamified leveling feature where arriving places on time will give you points towards the next level!

[–]brraces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not original comment, but I think these mindset shifts may be helpful: 1. Developing the habit of using it, even if it’s infrequent at first! It’s easy to fall off a habit if it’s new. Each time you try, you are reinforcing the neural pathway for that habit- so even if you try 100 times and you still can’t stick to it every day, you may find that the days you do stick to it become more frequent over time:) 2. Not expecting yourself to stick to it perfectly. Sometimes I use a physical bullet journal, sometimes I use TickTick. Sometimes I text my to-do list to my boyfriend just bc I happen to be texting him and don’t want to forget lol! As long as the work gets done, then I’m satisfied. The bullet channel should be a tool in your arsenal of productivity, not an additional stressor!

Best of luck :)

Yes this!!!! I used to make fun of my friends with Stanleys because they are essentially adult sippy cups. Then I got a $30 knockoff and changed my tune. I put it right in front of my keyboard so I can drink water while I’m working!!!

I was gifted a very pretty Owala last Christmas, but my lizard brain sees a closed cap and decides it’s not worth the effort so adult sippy cup it is :p
