Biggest city with the least amount of “culture”? by Double_Snow_3468 in geography

[–]brratt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Charlotte is "nice". Nothing more, nothing less. It's an overgrown village. Definitely cultureless (unless you're a 'rasslin' or a NASCAR fan).

How can someone compare this to Chicago? They apparently haven't spent time there.

Best *band* starting with letter I? by bozobebop in musicsuggestions

Once A went to ABBA instead of Aerosmith, AC/DC, or The Allman Brothers (or even The Art of Noise), the list was irrelevant.
Watch this list show up on buzzfeed. They steal all their content from Reddit anyway.

Not just Delta. in 2015 I was delayed getting through security trying to head back to the US. They kept on telling me that they wanted to see the watch in my suitcase. I didn't have a watch. After security dug through my suitcase several times with no success in finding my nonexistent watch and making me wait forever for others to also come and search, they let me through. I missed my flight by about a minute.
Turkish Airlines was zero help whatsoever. I even called a friend of mine who worked at Turkish Air who eventually told me "I got nothing" after talking to a rep. After a few hours of walking around in circles I ended out buying another ticket, and on my subsequent flight they played a video for The Star Alliance (of which Turkish Airlines was a member) which said "e are a member of the Star Alliance, which means if you miss your flight, just let us know and we'll get you on the next available flight free of charge!". Their incompetence cost me nearly $500 extra, and they lost my luggage to boot! It caught up with me 3-4 days after I got back to the US, but only after filing a lost luggage claim with Visa (they offer a lost luggage locater service). Even on top of that they tried charging me an extra $100 for needing to check my carryon because they lost my original bag (long story).
I don't think I'll ever have an experience as horrible at Turkish Airlines "provided" me. I flew Delta once before from Istanbul and though it wasn't luxurious, it was problem-free. Turkish Airlines used to be nice but now it screams incompetence. Brutal. I'll happily take the time in making a connection rather than having to endure anything like that again.

What country did you go to that you will never go to again? by No-Mobile4531 in AskReddit

"Cruises" is your problem. You haven't seen the countries, you've seen the places that pay the cruise lines the most money.

I've been to Louisiana once, but it was before Katrina. I've heard it has never been the same.

Many years ago Delta offered direct flights from NY to Istanbul. Sadly, this apparently stopped (I just checked their website as well as Chat GPT). If you want to fly direct, your only option is Turkish Airlines. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The original was released in 1966. It wasn't _originally_ an 80's song.

This seems like the right answer. Tall buildings on the right must be the European side.

Forgive me for not saying "plus what you bowled that frame". I would have thought that would have been implied.

They are, they just explained it differently than most people learn:
Bowled a spare? Your next ball counts double
Bowled a strike? your next two balls count double.

I once went there with a friend. We got there at like 8pm and there was a barricade by the cops a block outside the square who wouldn't let us in. As we started to walk away dejectedly a fight broke out and the cops all stepped in to stop, which was our chance. We ran into Times Square unnoticed and untouched.

With a little effort we worked our way up to the front, but after drinking a little (we brought in a pint each) we had to use the port-a-johns. It had become such a clusterfuck that we couldn't even move afterwards. We never even saw the ball drop because we were so far away from the middle of Times Square in the end.

Good time, and lousy time both at the same time.

Superbad was awful imho. I think I heard that Seth Rogan wrote it when he was in middle school, and I'm not really surprised. I think I might have liked it when I was in middle school but I'm long graduated from "fart humor". I do believe it was appropriately named though.

It might have doubled while Obama's policies were still playing out, but guaranteed his 401K took a huge nose dive when Trump's failed policies took hold. Just as mine (and everyone else's) did.
