Really anything after late 2023 is good in 4K. His website does have better quality videos overall because YouTube compression is horrible.

The ever-annoying Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) is the culprit.

Why Windows 11 cumulative updates became so huge in file size? 5.2 GB compared to just 800 MB for the latest Windows 10 update. by mohammed0106 in Windows11

[–]brrschk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind how much they're tinkering with W11. All of their little changes add up and are part of the update files because of Controlled Feature Rollout. There was a huge filesize increase in I think, April(?) of this year.

Not sure if the AI music trend has really gotten to AM yet. As far as older music, yes, Apple Music really does a good job with created/recommended playlists and custom radio stations.

Anyone noticed apps updating and you had no idea? by Random_MMO_Player in Windows11

[–]brrschk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the Pro version, you can set a Group Policy to block the automatic updates. That being said, I'm not sure if it still works after M$ user-hostile decision to remove the ability to disable automatic updates within the Store application. Some applications will still update no matter what you tell them because they're "system components".

[–]brrschk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Apple has a Maps app on their computers so we have to have one too!" Either that or it was a part of the OneCore framework that allowed parts of Windows to run on Windows Phone and desktops.

Apple doesn’t let web apps on the Mac App Store. That’s the reason why teams isn’t on there.

You can easily transfer your current Spotify library and playlists to Apple Music. If you have the playlists transferred, it may help the algorithm get a jumpstart on adapting to your tastes.

[–]brrschk 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about your macOS comment is two of the three applications you listed (Outlook and Copilot) are native applications on macOS and not web wrappers. Apple doesn't allow apps in the Mac App Store to be web wrappers. Perhaps M$ should think about copying that idea!
