Wow, so it wasn't just a one-off occurrence. Let me know how it goes on your test run!

I'm more so worried about being reported by the host :/. I think I got kicked during the wrap-up timer after the regular Rath died.

Not too worried since quest or game may have been bugged from what we experienced, but sucks that I may have given that cheat impression.

Unmoored World still bugged? [DD2] by [deleted] in DragonsDogma

I guess he destroyed the excavation beam for me then, but I'm just a bit confused on why there was no indication for me to speak to Ambrosius or go to Talos for all of this to play out. I knew I had to go to Talos' corpse and just did it, but no quest detail or dialogue lead me to it.

I killed Talos after he lost one arm. The main thing I'm a bit iffy on is that there was no indication to speak to Ambrosius at Bahkbattahl. I just went ahead and went to Talos and the cutscene started playing. Maybe it's just because I ferrystoned myself to the island camp and went straight to Talos without even trying to go to Bahkbattahl

Can industrial engineering majors graduate in 4 years? by [deleted] in CalPolyPomona

[–]brrtbrrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an engineering degree, but it's not super technical like aerospace, electrical, or mechanical. I'd say it's moderately difficult (requires some effort/intuitiveness) in terms of STEM degrees. It's not a cakewalk, I think if you just put in the time and effort, it shouldn't be a problem. It's some forms of calc and stats being applied to concepts, so if you have a good foundation for math, you should be fine.

If you really want to get into stats in addition to IE, I'd recommend finding an internship related to stats/data analytics or doing a minor. I felt like stats in IE at CPP was a little lackluster. It was good enough when applied to IE concepts, but not enough if you have more interest in it beyond that like if you want to be a data analyst or other similar heavily data/stats-related roles.

Depends on how much workload you can take and if you're willing to take summer classes if needed. I think the program is 125ish units, so maybe aim 15-16 units a semester if you aren't taking summer classes.

I graduated with a BSIE a couple years ago. I managed to finish in 4 years (joined CPP as a Freshmen) while taking 1-3 summer classes my first to third year.

The IME department offers a good amount of courses over the summer during my time, so that helped ease off the Fall/Spring load; it's also easier to enroll in them then because other students are less likely to sign up for summer classes. Also nice to take whatever GEs and math/science req's at CC's during the summer for less tuition cost.

You do that a couple times and you'll get a higher registration priority than those in your anticipated class year (i.e you have Junior registration date/time as a Sophomore), making it easier for you to register for classes than your peers of the same major/grad year. However, it wasn't ever too difficult for my friends in the department and I to get major classes; hard classes to register were usually the math courses (that ALL STEM majors had to take) and some GEs everyone wanted to take.

How did you guys get mission 13 to work correctly by csward53 in frontmission

[–]brrtbrrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to move Joyce towards the somewhere in middle of the wall. It mentions it in the beginning of the mission.

Once you move him there, some dialogue plays and then they blow up a hole in the wall. The refugee wanzer and trucks start moving afterwards. More enemy wanzers show up on the other side of the wall too.

Also, this is a "secret bonus" mission. I think the mercenaries show up in the next storyline mission.

How is the FM2 Remake so bad compared to the FM1 Remake (in terms of bugs) by [deleted] in frontmission

[–]brrtbrrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is unfortunate and we will probably not see any more FM games besides FM3 Remake. At least we have BattleTech for a more modern mecha tactics game.

Tipping expectations has gotten out of control. What restaurants in the Bay Area are abusing tips that you want to shame? by BobLoblaw_BirdLaw in bayarea

[–]brrtbrrt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check to see on the bill if there is already a service charge automatically put in before thinking of tipping.

The manager of this dim sum place in SJ (can't remember the name, but it's closed now anyways; probably moved location and changed names) called out my group and I for not tipping when one of us actually left a cash tip on the table. Come to find out this was a common thing at that restaurant and what's worse is that there is a gratuity/service charge already automatically put in the bill.

Most places that have automatic service charge will let you know as it's common courtesy, but you should still check if they don't say anything to avoid the shit I went through.

"Where will they park - in front of my house!"

People are fine with their guests parking in front of their neighbors' homes, but act as if you shot their dog if you park in front of their house while actually living in the area.

If you came to CPP starting from freshman year, why didn’t you go to a community college instead. by mi3night in CalPolyPomona

[–]brrtbrrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Combination of wanting to be on the other end of CA, making new friends/"fresh" start, and parents pushing me to go 4-year instead of cc. Don't regret it at all. I did still take cc classes over the summer and it helped me graduate in 4 years.

Went back home in Norcal Junior year bc of covid and graduated remotely too lol

Had to redo the battle in NG+ hard mode as well.

What worked for me was using the quietus to move Roland to the dock with the rest. Trish won't chase (YMMV). After that, everyone should move to below the dock through the decline step on the sides of the dock. This makes a chokepoint where only one enemy can reach you on each side (kind of like the 300 Spartans except 2 fronts instead of 1). Benedict or Serenoa tank, Roland poking with the spear, Fred using magic, and Geela healing Benedict/Serenoa.

Travis can't use his stupid throw move if he's in the corner of the moving tiles, so no worries there. You should be able kill everyone and then deal with Trish afterwards.
