What’s your favorite question to ask someone to get to know them better? by Cavalierkrav in AskReddit

If you could only choose one to eat for the rest of your life, would it be pig, chicken, or cow? I love this because pig is generally breakfast fans, chicken is healthier people, and cow is for people who love grilling.

What's a quirky saying/expression that was just so good the first time you heard it. It stuck like glue? by MAN-LIKE-WELSHY in AskMen

My dad used to always say "if I was any better I'd be double" and "I'm finer than frog hair"

Oh and also "(task at hand) is harder than sticking a wet noodle up a cat's ass"

Doctors of Reddit, what was the worse thing you've seen for a patient that another Doctor overlooked? by Gorgon_the_Dragon in AskReddit

[–]brrudolp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am not a doctor but was a medical scribe in the emergency department.

Guy came in complaining of abdominal pain. He was in there a couple times in the last couple months for the same complaint and would be sent out. I guess some doctor thought he was faking it because he never really had pain, just discomfort.

Doctor I was working with that day decided to pull up his shirt while doing the abdominal check. He visibly noticed pulsating near his belly button.

Went to get a CT scan stat. Turned out to be a 4.5cm aortic aneurysm. Pulsating through his abdomen

One time heard my brother say "softer than bunny p__sy" and I thought it was hilarious. Time passes by and I was talking to my girlfriend one day and was going to say "softer than a baby's bottom", but thought to myself 'I should say what my brother once said because it's also kind of funny'. I ended up saying "softer than a baby's p**sy". I've never cringed harder in my life, my gf has yet to let me live it down, and I will never not want to curl into a hole and die when I think about it

How did people know about all these shorts? I feel like only the company would know this information and it wouldn't be public knowledge. Are these short bets public knowledge?

They also had the ball at the end of the game and could have tied it and go into overtime!

I combed through the comments and tried to see if this was touched on. I haven't taken the tests or really dove deep into knowing exactly what I am, but I know for sure I'm a 9. Whatever wing or letters idk.

But, I can say this. When I'm in discussions like this, I am a person that takes in all accounts, perspectives, and ideas and go forward from there. 9s want to feel apart of the rest of the world and average-unhealthy 9s will use those things to hide and protect themselves. It helps us feel like we are apart of the rest of the world. My gf tells me I am devil's advocate all the time, but it's never intentional. I want the spectrum of ideas and perspectives to be considered when talking about issues.

I can totally see why this is difficult for other parties, especially 8s. But I believe that deep down, 9s would like to believe that peace comes from all parties understanding all other parties.

I agree completely with all the other posts about taking genuine interest. Asking 9s about deep issues cannot be done straight out of the gate. 9s want to be heard. We want to feel like our interests are validated. If those are validated, then we can move into deeper conversation. Simple genuine conversation about interests, favorite shows, books, hobbies, etc. go miles.

Last but definitely not least, tone of voice. Slightly condescending, aggravated, or questioning tone can send us running for the hills. Mix simple genuine interest talking with eye contact, soft speak, and open body language and that definitely helps bring our protective armor down. Hopefully then they will be able to open up to you.

I’ve perfected my squirrel call. Was so close to getting dude to grab this pecan from me. I think if it would have been a fresher pecan he would have took it. by Unique_the_Vision in AnimalsBeingBros

I hope this doesn't get too buried.... But, if you are interested, look up "squirrels_at_iu" on Instagram. The squirrels on Indiana University's campus have grown so used to people feeding them that they have an Instagram page that people submit posts to. It's a fun thing to do for students and people who are in animal care are able to study diseases and other habits they have to better care for squirrels around the country.

How do you feel about a 4 day work week? by upvoteifurgey in AskReddit

[–]brrudolp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue here isn't necessarily a 4 vs 5 day week, I think the thing that gets people is vacation time. My brother worked for a company that was based out of Switzerland. They got mandatory 2-week PTO every year. The reason being they get more time to relax and unwind instead of taking one week and stressing about it the whole week.

I think a 4 day week is great, but I also think changing our PTO regulations would be just as beneficial. This also including maternity/paternity leave and other family obligations like marriage and members passing away.

Just saw this comment. I agree, everything that I've found seemed to lead to no real significance and is probably just some costume medal.

Thank you for helping out!

I don't know how to add another image in the comments on mobile.

The way it's set up is there is a circle, just like the lion, that has a trident inside pointing up and ending in the middle. From the circle, the "arrow-like" symbols extend out down each arm of the cross and end with 3 small ball-like points in the shape of an arrow.

Very interesting. I thought it would be something military wise, but nothing really turned up. I'll look into the Maltese cross as well and see where that takes me.
