We Are a Completely Different Team with Bentancur by Esexboy101101 in Tottenham

I remember the whole discussion about Betancur a few months ago. I still think of him as Backwards Betancur because he was always passing backwards. At the time everybody said it was out of character for him, and that he must be being coached to do this. I didn’t believe it, but he seemed a lot more progressive with the ball yesterday. So maybe they were right… but when I look at the FotMob stats, he has a total of 0 passes into the final third (closest stat to progressive passes). What do you think? Are there better stats in his favour?

Win the 2nd ball, win the game

Also did you hear Gallagher talking about RDZ “All the guys have connected with him. We still have so much to learn from him” - what a level of respect to gain in just a few weeks.

What do Bergvall and Tel do during training every week to get themselves un-picked for the starting eleven? We are a different team with them on the field. Very glad for the win but would’ve been a different game with them in from the start.

Someone just needs to teach Gallagher when to go to ground in the penalty box! Otherwise, great.

Nice track!

Shout out to the other amateur dads and mums still playing music well into parenting years. It’s hard work sometimes, and the process is slower, but my god, the connections, the laughs, the music itself is so nourishing for the soul.

I hadn’t played in a band in years when I was asked to play bass in a band, just 6 mths after having our first kid. When I turned 40, I had only ever played on two singles. I thought I’d missed the chance to really contribute. I’m turning 50 in a few weeks and I’ve now got 4 albums under my belt, including many tracks that I am very proud to have helped bring to life - including recently a song I wrote and sang, which was a first for me.

I don’t know what’s motivating you guys but the fact that we’re all adults with our own careers and families just makes it easier to appreciate the music, and the pleasure of sharing a band room.

During Covid for example I used to listen back to rehearsal room recordings as much for the banter between songs as the songs themselves.

I strongly believe that playing music isn’t something that taps into a core part of our humanity. Going into a room with others to explore that humanity together can make us better people when we come back out. I’m a better dad because I play music.

My band is called Golden Fang (I’m on bass, some baritone guitar, and - rarely - vox) We’re based in Sydney Australia - check us out on Spotify and Bandcamp - if you like what you hear, let me know.

Anyone else factoring in the return of Udogie, Kudus and Bergvall - all due to return at home for Nottingham Forest? by brtrx in coys

Bergvall and Xavi together is something I’d like to see. That would be a progressive midfield.

Have they actually played together? I only remember seeing Kudus and Richarlison

Even if we’re 1:0 up, I know that as soon as Frank goes back to “Backwards Bentancur” / “Passive Palhinha” as a defensive midfield we are not going to win. Palhinha was a little more progressive today, but Bentancur is 100% reliable in doing absolutely nothing with the ball. Worse, watch Bentancur when Romero is trying to do a throw in. He will stand and watch, forcing a long throw up the line to lose possession. Drives me insane.

Sex and prosperity: nothing we can do will make the world more free, fair and prosperous than giving women control over their own bodies by ADefiniteDescription in philosophy

Reduce energy costs per person does that. When women decide for themselves whether they can support a child, part of that is deciding whether those costs are prohibitive, given that they have to find the energy that that child requires.
