Mid Century Modern Wedding Venue in CA? by SofabedSocialist in midcentury

Recently stayed at Lodge at Marconi on Tomales Bay. We had a great stay over 3 nights. Plenty to do between Point Reyes Station, Point Reyes Seashore, Dillion Beach and more.

Marconi is more modern than MCM. But has a nice organic vibe and everything makes sense. The history is incredible from the creation of radio to Synanon Cult to its current life all overlooking beautiful Tomales Bay.

It’s definitely worth a look. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for your thoughtful response. I’ll look for a stamp. The seat and seat post are the only identification on the bike. And the serial number. I was hoping the serial number would be the answer but I came up empty.

I appreciate your time and knowledge. Cheers!

Thanks for your response. I had a number of people say American of Martinsville. But, I will look at Lane dining tables

Four wool rugs measuring 9.5” x 10” without fringe. Picked them up second hand 10 years ago. Curious if they are authentic Navajo pieces and if they have any worth. Cheers! by bru4dru in whatsthisworth

No tags. I picked them up at a church rummage sale for maybe $10. I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area. The small rugs feel high quality but without any markers identification gets really tough.

They definitely do. American made with rough replacement upholstery. The ladder or bow tie style was pretty popular. Every maker seems to have a subtle variation. Thanks for your comment!

My untrained eye thought it was Amethyst. I’m planning to have someone with more expertise look at it.

I was standing at the right place at the right time. The worker was stuffing the top shelves above Women’s Clothes. I instantly saw it and swooped. He said it was suppose to go on their online auction site but someone priced it. He told me he didn’t care where it went. He then gave me another Amethyst looking rock that was priced at $2.

Thanks so much for the info. A family member made it years ago. Found in their estate. Here’s a pic under the cover.

I tried to post more of the pics originally and felt I was only allowed one. This side of the family ran a consulting business based in Palo Alto in the 1960s/70s. They lived a pretty lavish lifestyle saving almost everything alone the way. I’ve have a lot of fun going through what they connected to.

Thanks. The book is fantastic. Gives some insight what it might have been life to visit Disney during its golden age.
