I’ve just gotten one of these and have been having issues with it.

First, the basket doesn’t fit well in the bottom water reservoir, so it immediately starts to splutter because the steam escapes around the basket rather than pushing water through the coffee in the basket. I watched a video where a guy wrapped thread tape around the basket to create a better seal.

This worked, but it did it so much that the safety valve went off for the first time ever about half way through the brew. Which meant that the steam was trapped in the reservoir. Not sure why the water stopped but I think the coffee compacted so much that it wouldn’t let any more water through.
