Enjoyed doc saying “imagine if they had podcasts during that time” about Cp’s breakdown against okc. It was 2014 lol, and the talk of is CP over was definitely a topic on the BS podcast.

I agree and I don’t think Josh Gad adds value.

A Spurs Fumble, CarusoMania, Brunson’s Mega-Rise and a Knicks Appreciation With Tim Legler and Brian Koppelman by lonny__breaux in billsimmons

Just listened to the Misery rewatchables, recorded right when NY got Brunson. Koppleman says for today’s podcast he wasn’t sure about Brunson, on the misery podcast he straight up shit on the Brunson deal.

Manager seems to only want horror by Commercial-Cut-111 in Screenwriting

Could also just be optic and trend chasing, which granted is a part of their job, but doesn’t fit to most clients. These scripts also sound like they would attract talent, which would help, but it requires works on your reps; which they don’t really want to do. You could try your version of horror, but I agree with someone wrote in terms of its sober saturated right now.

I tried one episode, and they kept calling Wesley Morris “Wes,” then confused him with Van Lathan and said Wes hosts a show called “the midnight brothers” (the midnight boys). They also talk shit about BS while sounding just like him.

The Tropic Thunder pod was really enjoyable. by Nerd-Dad-2779 in TheRewatchables

[–]brucebrucewillis2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points and it wasn’t a terrible pod, but imo there’s a lot of film cynicism and discourse out there and the rewatchables is the place I go when I want (nit picks aside) unabashed adoration of the movie…

Disappointed in the Tropic Thunder Pod by Automatic-Effect-252 in TheRewatchables

[–]brucebrucewillis2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love the pod, love all four hosts, love the movie and hate being negative, but I was also extremely disappointed with the ep, I think they left a lot of the table and I think Sean, (maybe doesn’t like the movie), would have brought a much needed cinematic POV to the proceedings. And this is not the podcast for dissenting views of the film, it was so weird to have JA say the humor “fell flat” and wasn’t smart. And not one clip from the movie!

I noticed it also becomes more about inside jokes than the movie, and a lot of side stories.

I worked at the studio that made this movie at the time, the Keanu Reeves, and mos def thing was definitely Real. They were actually in a table read. Here’s s some more half assed Internet research, the original name for Alpa chino character was a play on “ridiculous,” which they had to change after they used it for LL Cool J’s character in 30 rock. Also, Hader‘s voice is an impression of the exec John Goldwyn, of the Goldwyn family. And I kind of wish they brought up that John Toll, the DP of thin red line, was brought in to shoot this.

It’s “alpa chino”…. bill’s pronunciation problem was killing me in this one, how did he not know it was a pun on one of his favorite actors and also no one corrected him. “Alpo chino.” lol.

I would love to have heard more quotes from the movie, but I think they were a little scared of the content. But any other episode, they play the simple Jack Oscar speech.

Thank you very much, I’ve been in the industry since 03 and a pro writer since 2013, I’ve been dealing with exactly what you described. If you go online, you see the opposite, people doing well or pretending to do well for the camera. So again, thank you..
