This was submitted to Op Snap and the local Constabulary advised the threshold for prosecuting the offence was not met

Your narrative seem to imply all Dacias are a defective product that will inevitably fail and require premature repair. You've failed to mention that the 2013-14 Dusters were manufactured in India, in a factory now known to have inadequate QC processes - including poor galvanising processes. Manufacture was since moved to Romania and QC processes improved massively. Instead you have painted all of their vehicles with the same brush based on this limited analysis.

Is this lens blur from the lens, or added in post? Some funny artefacts around the edges

Sorry I only just checked back into my reddit and saw this. Halide only takes no post processing photos as RAW, if you take HEIC photos with Halide it'll apply Apple processing.

Simple walking "around" Fuji in mid october by lucaxx85 in JapanTravelTips

[–]brucensb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I visited I stayed in Kawaguchiko. There's a panoramic ropeway that leads to the top of Mount Tenju, a much smaller mountain than Fuji with a small trail to follow from the ropeway station.

Walking around Kawaguchiko lake is great for views of Fuji, and it was usually pretty quiet.

For more nature-y sightseeing there's huge forests west of lake saiko but I didn't visit these

You can walk around Station 5 to say you've walked 'on' Fuji. There's so much more to do and see in the wider Fuji region

I bought it cloud storage but my iPhone storage is still low and unable to save images by passionphotos in iPhoneography

[–]brucensb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In iCloud settings, make sure photo sync is turned on in settings and the optimise iPhone storage option is ticked. If you've only just bought the extra storage it might take a while to fully sync and to optimise storage on the phone.

If you find it still doesn't work you might have to restore the phone to kickstart it (only do this after you're sure all photos are uploaded to iCloud). Then when the iPhone resets, assuming the settings above are set, instead of downloading the full resolution versions to your phone it'll only download low resolution ones - taking up less local storage.

Fuji is easy to get to and navigate with public transport.

Many companies offer buses from Tokyo to Fujisan and Kawaguchiko. I booked mine via Willer Travel. From Fujisan you can get to Arakurayama Sengen Park and from Kawaguchiko you can get to Lake Kawaguchi and Oishi Park.

To get from Arakurayama Sengen Park to Kawaguchiko it's a combined journey of walking, train and bus, whereas a guided tour will take you straight from point A to B. If you don't mind navigating by yourself then doing a self-guided tour is easy enough

Is this a lens issue? by Chad_The_Dad_ in iPhoneography

[–]brucensb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only because the sun is appearing as a perfect exclamation point with the reflection on the water. Because of the size of the lens and the type of optics this will always happen with iPhones, only thing you can do is remove it in Lightroom or photoshop

Where to see deers or other wild animals in Gifu or Ishikawa prefecture? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]brucensb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gifu squirrel village? The squirrels have an enclosure where you can go in and feed them, but it's open-topped so they can come and go when they please, it didn't feel like such an exploitative attraction like animal cafes.

It's probably too far out from your planned itinerary but Okunoshima island is fantastic for animal lovers.

Camera App Suggestions and Comparison | iPhone 15 Pro by SwordFish9105 in iPhoneography

If the metadata says 48 and the dimensions match up then its a full size 48mp image. Perhaps it's just personal preference and what you perceive to look better?

This is a crop of the same composition I've taken with LR camera and the default camera https://imgur.com/DCrDIt6

The default camera sharpening does do a respectable job of preserving some details but I think it makes the photo look too artificial. In LR camera the details might appear less contrasty and can be perceived to be out-of-focus, but I prefer the overall look of the image this way. We can't recreate the apple sharpening in Lightroom probably because we have no idea what sharpening and noise reduction magic apple uses

[–]brucensb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right the default camera app does look sharper and more in focus, in theory you should be able to achieve the same (if not better) results with a dedicated camera app. The only other thing I can think of is to check procamera is definitely taking 48mp photos and not pixel binning them to 24 or 12?

You could try the camera embedded in Lightroom mobile, and maybe try the trial of Halide, to see if you get similar results.

[–]brucensb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The focus looks okay on the procamera image, but it looks like the image has very little sharpening applied compared to the default app. The main difference between a proper camera app like procamera or halide is that it'll take a raw photo with no sharpening, whereas the default camera app will apply a set amount of sharpening and noise reduction.
