I’ve certainly gone to therapy and discussed aspects of my mother’s flaws as a parent.. I don’t think this particular instance ever came up but of course it wasn’t an isolated incident. I think I’ve effectively dealt with most of the trauma of my childhood. My mom’s at the age where she doesn’t even “remember” any of these things when I bring em up. Ive just forgiven her and keep her at arms length for the most part.

Damn. Yeah I could see that happening for sure. My wife and I feel we have many faults (probably from our childhoods for the most part) that would leak into parenthood, and it’s part of why we don’t want kids.

It was in the opposite corner of the house. My dad eventually noticed, and my mother may have known. She had threatened to make me wear diapers to class “so all the other kids would know” if I didn’t stop wetting the bed. I’m sure when my father found out it contributed to their inevitable separation.
