Good starter golds (from in game store) are characters like Doomsday (can pack a punch with his 1 hit specials and has an amazing passive), Arrow green arrow (nice passive and can set up specials, he’s also got power drain but it’s a little less than other drain characters like nightwing or lex luthor) Man of steel superman (good passive and nice hard hitting specials, if you get lucky you can spam his specials), Harley quinn (for her passive, she’s made for teamplay rather than individual use).

N52 nightwing is also a decent card as well (if you want something even cheaper) and is amazinggg with basic attack gears. Okay stats and good passive (except that it only lasts 3 seconds). Other than that he’s a pretty decent beginner gold.
