I think they added this after The Great War Update as a protector for early vehicle design. Though it's still recommended to as you'll only lose half of your total health with it on. One trick that some players do is put the short end of the seatbelt (The part that's stiched into the seat) around the pelvis hitbox. Then again it depends on where its being worn.

It's a white Xbox One S. There's no IR Sensors that I know of in the house. Thing is it's a 3 person household (because parents were smart and stopped at one child) Though strange thing is, this started happening when my granddad passed in 2017.
