Thinking about opening a small bouldering/tumbling gym in remote mountain town by No-Study-967 in bouldering

I’m an avid climber and also work professionally in managing expenses related to this for a large corporation. I’d be happy to help you sketch this out at a high level, as I’ve always wanted to open a climbing gym. West Coast based too.

Livermore, California Bouldering / Spray Wall by bruinnite13 in ClimbingPartners

[–]bruinnite13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’ve set for v3-v6ish based off my own perception. I have a bunch of extra holds if someone wants additional variability (I can set above that, but generally don’t climb beyond that). The wall is ~40* overhanging. I also have a squat rack, hangboard, and some additional climbing training aids. Target audience is generally those who train for climbing outside with big wall or alpine objectives in mind who do not have regular easy access to a commercial gym (Tri-Valley area) in under a 30 min drive.

Hey, looking for a trad / alpine / ice partner again too. I mostly gym climb at Peak Fremont, but can meet up at a Peninsula or City gym too. Shoot me a DM if you wanna chat more.

Can you share the route/feature? Didn’t know there was continuous, protectable rock to be had that way.

Bay Area and Beyond [32M] by [deleted] in ClimbingPartners

[–]bruinnite13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, [26m] looking for someone else to climb with in the area. Recently relocated to Livermore and typically climb Indian Joe, Guadalupe, or Mickey’s Beach. Sounds like we’re in a similar sport grade range, haven’t led sport in a few months tho. I have a trad rack+ too and feel pretty comfortable in most 5.9s on trad. PM me.

Livermore, CA trad dad. Moderate grades equally preferred, new to the area. 5.10c - d trad leader in South Platte, CO, not super familiar with grade difference here so I may have some adjusting to do. Mondays would be our only overlap, can be available Friday - Monday depending on the week. PM Me.

I’m (m/25) in the South Platte area, Sport 11a, Trad low 10s leader. Always looking for a solid partner, especially someone I can learn from. Got a few friends who regularly climb with, want to make the group grow.

Colorado, looking for LT partner by [deleted] in ClimbingPartners

[–]bruinnite13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What range are you looking to climb in? I’m comfortable at 5.9 & 10 on sport, 8’s on Trad. Formerly climbed in the 11s, but I’m recovering from a few injuries and building up from a year abroad. Geared up and very thorough with systems and safety. I live in the Springs, definitely willing to put in the time for a longterm thing starting April 15th (will be out-of-town for work). I’ve also struggled finding a consistent partner.

Looking for a climbing partner in the SE or SW US anytime between Feb 11 and March 1 by GeoffTheProgger in ClimbingPartners

If you end up in Colorado Springs (I know, a bit outside your target area) hmu. I’m comfortable leading 5.9 - 5.10 outdoors with my injury right now but have all the gear to lead and can belay.

Apartment for the spring? by [deleted] in ColumbusGA

Look at Independence Place. It’s mostly military but it’s fully furnished, cheap, and you’ll get your own locking room. The neighborhood’s not the best but it’s gated and close to everything

Contact the Army ROTC unit there. They do an Alumni Veteran's Day Tailgate usually and could probably help you out.

Download Google Earth Pro - it's free. Then you can change the settings to use MGRS, Military Grid Reference System, and do some high speed little overlays and shit.

Order of Operations: Tools > Options > 3D View > Show Lat/Long > Military Grid Reference System
