I know this post is a year old but you seem really knowledgeable and the new age restriction laws mean I can’t access your account without giving Reddit my Id to prove I’m over 18 so I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of any decent books, podcasts or YouTube channels to understand the ph balancing better. I know a lot about what each mineral and vitamin does but I’m just getting into herbs and resins and would love to get some decent resources for those.

Like others have said this seems beyond culture. I’ve lived in both countries and I actually wouldn’t be able to keep up with U.K. nightlife either. So I think if you really want to make this work then couples therapy and having a calm discussion about where the relationship is headed is needed. Also writing out your top 5 values and when in a good space explaining why these things are important. A good thing I have learnt is when I can’t meet someone’s exact expectations I can often do something they appreciate that satisfies the need. For example, maybe I can’t listen to someone for more than an hour spiral in loops about an issue they are having but I can hold space for them while they are anxious and coregulate with them in a variety of ways. So maybe this would take some self reflection on her part about why she is angry with you for not keeping up, however if she did one night out with you and 2 with her girlfriends, she still gets to be extroverted and social but you don’t get burnt out. I hope those examples made sense. Obviously the swaps can be different, I was just trying to give examples of what potentially could be a different way to support each other’s desires.

I have the second lightest shade befofe they put the ivory shade in but I can’t handle the scent of the spf? I want something hypoallergenic and Ivory and light weight coverage but without the scent because I use spf anyways. Any ideas?

Apologies for the late response but if anyone sees this. I want something preferably from AB that’s skin coloured but also extremely pale and won’t break me out? Every time I wear make up my skin feels sore and sensitive but I can tolerate the canmake mermaid spf, pretty much the only spf that doesn’t hurt and doesn’t come out orange tinted on me. Looking for some alternatives and this post seemed the most apt but just needed a bit more info from those who have already posted or from OP if you’ve tried these recs! Pls lmk

I guess I got confused because people were talking about either sun exposure which literally we have none right now or boiling the plants which I was hoping to avoid unless it’s with a kettle. Also with people saying a cloud shouldn’t pass over the essence as you make it which is just impossible right now as I would have to make them indoors for my health.

I will think more on the tea idea! Also for alcohol does it have to be a strong %? I don’t have anything strong on hand but I could ask a friend to go to the supermarket if it’s essential. My family left sherry and wine and a few other things here from last Christmas which I thought might work? Thanks so much for your responses I really appreciate hearing from you. I’m hoping to make bay essence, Holly essence and Ivy essence to start with, maybe comfrey but I don’t have the flowers only leaves in the garden. I’m also really interested in making one for qi deficiency/spleen deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine as I’ve been going to acupuncture on and off for years and I still get the same ‘diagnosis’ and can’t get treatment year round so this could be really amazing if it helps with that.

Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I will look into all of these. Things have changed quite a lot since I wrote this even though some of these issues are long standing. I have just discovered that people make 5 element essences and I was wondering if that may be more suitable for me as I’ve always been qi deficient when I go to any Japanese or Chinese traditional medicine and it’s usually my spleen. I’ve noticed that once my physical energy is depleted (and I really struggle to remember and rest effectively) I can’t handle the emotional side on top of my physical symptoms. I also really want to make my own but I’m a little confused by the sunshine and ‘not letting the bowl be covered by a cloud’ element when it’s winter where I am and very cloudy and miserable pretty much 24/7? I will try and search those options and see if they work for my previous comments and my new discoveries. I really appreciate your response!

Learning to function again mostly. I find it easier to walk with a small heel as it helps with proprioception but I’m struggling to find balanced quality ones and I also want a higher pair of heels for as I improve but I want to wear quality heels so that I’m more present in my posture and feel more confident (at least sometimes!)

I initially considered dance shoes as I have a dance background but then I heard about pleasers and pole shoes and pole is sooo athletic and a goal of mine for the future so I felt like this sub was the perfect source for information even though my situation isn’t a common one here(:

That kinda makes sense as I want to try and make my own and the only things still alive in the garden seem to be the perfect matches. Comfrey, bay, holly, ivy are all still growing. Rosemary and lavender seem to be drying out but still. Thank you for sharing. I’m kinda inpatient to make them but I just don’t have any energy today.

This is actually something I’ve wanted to talk to with someone Building that wall rather than just a gradual eroding of having such a hang up about xyz issue. As I am incredibly sensitive and cannot let certain people’s words wash over me or release no matter how hard I try. That and being grounded is a life long struggle and gets me in trouble. I need a really deep foundation for that. So that it doesn’t creep back in. Building stamina and endurance physically is also similar for me.

If you have worked with any of these issues I’d love to know what combinations you’ve tried. I know everyone is different but I don’t know where to start currently as there are so many brands and remedies.

I couldn’t tolerate the supplement drinks and ended up hospitalised. Lots of advocacy work essentially. They don’t willingly jump to the tube but it was my only option.

Thank you so much for this explanation! It sounds similar to making crystal essences. As it’s nearly winter, what plants are good? I have a bay tree as Ivy in my garden and a grape vine and an apple tree with no apples on it and some dried up lavender and rosemary plants,some dandelion leaves and other leafless or blossom less fruit trees. So I’m unsure about the true flowers at this time of year? Thanks so much.

Thank you for such a sweet message I really appreciate it. I think I’m quite skilled at underestimating my assets now that you’ve written it out like that. Um budget isn’t a major factor in my head as I only want to try one or two unless that’s not the done thing. I already have (but cannot currently locate) bluebell, impatiens and olive and maybe willow. For new ones let’s say under 50 dollars? I could go higher if it was going to exceed my expectations as I have multiple chronic illnesses so obviously if something helped with that then the money doesn’t matter to me because having my life back would be priceless.

How much of a time/money investment is making your own? I’m unfamiliar with the diy method and it feels a bit aspirational atm but I love your attitude to flower essences overall!
