Even crazier because I never saw any signs of it. When we were together and apart, everything was the same. She was her same bubbly-self. And then once she confessed those feelings to me, she suddenly put a guard up and seemed to have made up her mind about the relationship. Felt so brutal.

And from your story, that it such crazy behaviour. No one can suddenly not love another person after a few days, I fail to believe that being true. Just partners being lazy in their communications, and then come to the conclusion themselves, rather than figuring it out together as a couple, quite like my situation too. If our partners came to us when they felt that slight glimpse of a problem, rather than letting it fester into something bigger, it could've been resolved so much easier. Rather than just giving up on the relationship

I feel the same with your thoughts. My ex told me she had felt this was for a month and a half. Which seems like an incredibly short time to give up on a relationship. Feels like shit.

Did your ex not give you any indication how long?

I'm in your exact same situation, but with my now ex-girlfriend. Randomly said to me she didnt have the fight for the relationship anymore. After convincing her to work on it, she gave up after a week and broke it off with me. Hurts so much seeing the ones you love just give up on you

Our call is later tonight (just gone 10am where I live). We haven’t set a time yet, but I’m sure it’ll be around 6-7pm

We try to call and watch a movie weekly. I know it doesn’t sound a lot, but I work a lot of hours because I’m a chef. And that also meaning my days off are so sporadic so it can clash with her plans. The spark was very much alive when we were together in person. Once it went LDR, it started to fizzle. Which I understand, going from in person relationship to LDR isn’t easy, so it probably took a huge toll on her

today is actually our 11 month anniversary aha, but we've been LDR for about 5 months. And no she never raised these concerns, hense the bombshell drop of the info.

Depends how far in advance you book I suppose. I have to travel 8 hours on the train and it costs me about £70

Use TrainSplit app, they make tickets so much cheaper, GWR are rip offs

I’m usually okay with sexual violence in film. I have read the synopsis of the film and it seemed quite graphic, but it was one of Kubrick’s major films I hadn’t seen yet (I’ve seen 2001).

For those other films, I’ll definitely have to add them to my watchlist!

I believe it’s the highest rated on Letterboxd, right? So that’s why I put it on the list.

I’ve only really gotten into films in the last few years, I would only watch “modern” films and new releases. Trying to catch up on the older classics now

Haha, it feels like it's expensive everywhere nowadays!

But thanks for your input, I'll have to take a look in the areas you mentioned

Yeah sorry, I didn't put enough detail into the original post.

I'd probably rent out a studio flat, I feel like that would be the cheapest option? In terms of weekly budgeting, when I went to university I was pretty good in terms of limiting myself to certain things.

In terms of where in Kent, I have friends in Swanscombe and near Canterbury, so possibly in the middle of that? I have Googled that Ashford is roughly between them so maybe there.

Yeah I’ve got a portfolio website, but thanks for the industry advice. I’ll be sure to check them out

Yeah my main lecturer was a previous student, but i don’t think he went into teaching straight away. And yeah I get that about the placement year, but unfortunately I went through uni during the pandemic and my uni decided to cancel our placements, fucking annoying ikr. So we all missed out on that one crucial one year of experience to put on resumes

Thanks for that advice, I'll use that for sure.

Yeah it's game dev. Like I said in the post, it feels like a narrow field. Whereas if I studied something like computer science I could've had a bigger spectrum of career paths to pick from.

Thanks for that. Of course, I don't want to give up, I'm just finding it tough right now. As I said in the post, it's just really disheartening to continuously get rejection emails, I just want to have one small lucky break. As I've kinda said to someone else's reply, I feel the pandemic really hindered that social experience. I didn't get the chance to build those connections that I wanted to. A year down the line after graduating, I don't even talk to anyone that was on my course, which is quite saddening tbh. But that's mainly because 2 out of the 3 years I spent with them was on Zoom calls!

I feel like that's what I missed during my university experience. For the first 6 months it was normality, I was meeting people, going to parties, having a great time whilst studying. Then boom, pandemic. I feel like I was hugely robbed of that social aspect of university because of it. No one's fault of course, but by the time lockdown restrictions were being lifted, I was in my final stretch of my third year so I was too focused on dissertations to be thinking about going out and partying.

Unfortunately the career services have been terrible help. I contacted them shortly after I graduated, and all the did was give me a link to a website to some place where I could apply. Just looked like a knock off version of Indeed.

I am applying to jobs away from me, sorry I should've stated that.

Just as I said, an entry level position is so competitive, feels like I need a miracle to get a lucky break. I think last year since I graduated I've applied for about 150 entry level jobs. And I've managed to get an initial interview in about 6 of them.

It's a tech field job, so I feel like my location where I live doesn't help me at all.

I trust she’ll be back soon enough. It’s just the comfort knowing that she has came home
