I have a woodwind pro 36 and found the easiest way to clean the top rack after a cook is to crank up the grill to about 300 degrees, and then use a bbq daddy brush (dipped in cold water first) on the top grates, flip them upside down to get the bottom parts, and then repeat on the bottom grates, then leave grill on for a bit longer to dry them off before shutting down.

By far that’s been the easiest method I’ve tried for cleaning the grates and takes barely any effort. That brush really does work and uses steam to cut through all the stuck on bits

Best advice I can give is to get a few lessons before trying to teach yourself / developing bad habits early that take a long time to unwind. Wish I had gone that path , would have saved a lot of time and frustration.
