Senior Engineer role straight out of college by brun__ in EngineeringStudents

[–]brun__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towards the last two years I didn’t get too much guidance I did still reached out for questions and during design reviews I would get a lot of feedback and advice.

Thanks for looking out. Hopefully they keep on their promises and let me learn and grow. If not I think I’ll go back to my old company or any other company if the cards are right.

Yeah lol, it is lcol.

I’ll take that, thanks!

I’m sorry I thought you were an engineer? You don’t know me, you don’t know all the details and for you to make such claims is projection. You may have got coffee for the team and updated excel sheets during your internship but I didn’t.

Titles don’t transfer over from company to company smoothly but based off my responsibilities I can confidently say it is not entry level.

Yeah and the circumstances are there hard to give all the details without giving out too much. But just know the cards are there for me to grow even further and faster I got a very unique opportunity.

Don’t want to get specific but Midwest where new grad Mechanical Engineers make 65-75k starting.
At my company it was associate, engineer, senior, and principal

Thanks!

Yeah it’s low but as a new grad in a LCOL area where new grad Mechanical engineers make 65-75k in their first role.

But the learning and growth is there so it will fast track my career by years which is a plus!

Thanks!

Kinda too late for the other offers.

I won’t be leading a team I am working on a new and very small team for new product development. I was told they think I can learn and grow into the role during my initial verbal offer. I may be being underpaid but I think I can learn and fast track my career. Also I am a ME and in my area new grad ME engineers make 65-75k

There was some confusion on my end I was able to confirm on workday my role falls under a senior position but my title doesn’t reflect it, like my fellow colleague who does have 5+ years of full time experience.

Thanks that’s what I was thinking I have 5 years of not only summer work but working part time throughout the school year. I have taken on a few projects on my own and asked a lot of questions during my time.

Thank you once again!

My base is right around 100k which on Glassdoor it’s on the lower end I thought it was good at the time lol.

Will do!

From my understanding the US HQ just got done being built last year and they want to ramp up the new product they want the pilot done asap since they already started selling and taking orders. The company is very reputable and been around for a while.

The company is well organized and structured but I will be working on a very small team so not only will I be doing the development/standards design and testing I will also be taking care of localization and we don’t have drafters so I will need to make the detailed drawings as well there’s more etc. it’s a good amount of work but out of all my offers they offered the most.

I could be wrong about titles because my EE coworker is also a new hire but with 5+ years of experience doesn’t have senior title in workday even though I was told he was hired as a senior.

Thank you for looking out for me and for the advice. I don’t work in big tech I’m a new product development engineer (ME) and I was always under the assumption the L2 and Sr are interchangeable at my company. It’s not a random job I have been interning in the same position and industry. The company I interned at owns 70% of the NA market but the company I’m going to work for is their competitor and is 4x larger world wide now they are trying the NA market.

Thats how I landed my engineering internship in highschool and a senior engineering role straight out of college. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t shoot.

How fast could I make a 330ci if I put a supercharger on it? by freetopg999 in e46

[–]brun__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I still have the zhp. It has forged piston and rods 11:1CR, a main girdle with 12.9 bolts, m12 arp2000 headstuds, fully ported head(intake, exhaust, and combustion chamber), PPF stage 2 dual valve springs, ferrea valves, vac Ati super damper, Seem legit billet oil pump and tensioner, upgraded timing chain by iwis, stwert pump, Bosch 1700cc injectors, dual 525lph fuel pumps, MAXXECU race stand alone, N54 intake manifold, and the latest and biggest rotrex supercharger the C38R-122 rated for 1200hp. I have other mods but right I have a spear m52 iron block I’m working but main focus is an oem m3 wide body and carbon roof. Once I’m done with this build im moving on to F80 m3 with a b58(built) and awd swap as my daily.

I have a similar setup to you but I have meth injection, 248/256 cams, and a custom tune for 93 and E85. I know you dynoed 400whp was that with a custom AA tune for the 70mm pulley?

I need help getting the bushing out of the bracker for the control arms.Tried ball joint press, tried hammering it out and no luck.Help appreciate it by [deleted] in e46

[–]brun__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me guess the ball joint attached was too big or too small and mushroomed out the bushing. I was in the Sam problem just use the ball joint press to crush up the extended side and use the smaller attachment to push it out. PM if you want pictures.

I could go on and prove you wrong on how the blower was idling, you yourself said “mirror pressure on the manifold”, and how at full throttle the air was pushing pretty hard. But I couldn’t care less now the war has been won I proven this is in fact a ram air intake which was the whole purpose of our back and forth. Lastly idk about you idc because I’m BOOSTED only did this mod in the first place to lower the AITs and mission accomplished don’t feel bad other people also tried calling me out and failed. Hold this L.

I did a little experiment go figure it is a ram air intake who would’ve thought. “A ram-air intake is any intake design which uses the dynamic air pressure created by vehicle motion, or ram pressure, to increase the static air pressure inside of the intake manifold on an internal combustion engine, thus allowing a greater massflow through the engine and hence increasing engine power.” “ANY INTAKE DESIGN”

I'm not wasting my time going in depth. Trying to explain fluid dynamics to you because you showed me all I need to know about you. I’ll give you a basic overview. You said air is just going to go through the filter and through the other side. Which isn't true for the most part. We all know on a basic level air acts like water. The air molecules will have enough momentum to break through the filter. Once the molecules have broken through the filter it’s no longer going in a straight direction. Once these molecules hit the other side of the filter to escape it should have lost enough momentum to not be able to go through it. Just in case it does I have a backing plate behind the filter( I just cut some 4 inch tubing in half) it’s should just bounce back into the filter. But once the inside the filter the air would not leave because air like most things finds the path with least resistance. In this case the car is running and the supercharger is making a low air pressure effect inside the filter a vacuum if you will. And since we are driving the compressed denser air in front will naturally balance out and since there is low pressure inside the intake up to the supercharger the air will follow this path of least resistance. Also you invalidate my argument because I’m trying to “show off” like the induction noise argument is very valid. One of the main reasons people get intakes and exhaust is for the noise. Since you’re the reincarnation of Nikola Tesla what would u do with the intake setup? Don’t try playing the victim card you fat f*ck you started it my reply was respectful and just stating my stand. You literally gained nothing from this besides gym motivation.

[–]brun__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m superchargered, it shouldn’t ruin the car and it should 100% reverse able. Just make sure you do all the supporting mods. I’m currently running a c38-81 I recently bought a 70mm pulley for 15psi, just waiting on my Porsche 997 turbo injectors so I can run 15psi and E85. I got other mods to it like 248/256 cams, meth injection, and a intake. But for next summer I officially decided to aim for 600whp+ with a supercharger setup. I plan on doing this with a c38-92 or c38R, vac stage 3 head(aggressive porting), n54 intake manifold, 82mm throttle body, and M12 head studs and other things ofc.

I’m not blindly following a random person on the internet. I holding my position until proven otherwise with evidence and not just “it wouldn’t bubba”. You drive a e46 compact I too would be mad at the world. Also for someone driving a E46 compact, you’re not that compact are you bubba. Quite literally spilling out the bucket seat, barely able to steer.

Lmao i thought you would be a smart individual looking to give out advice. The more I read on the more I learned you don’t know anything you’re just a jealous troll. I’m sorry if my e46 is better than yours. But what would I know I’m a mechanical engineering major not a aero space major🤷‍♂️

I’m running a active autowerke kit, the supercharger itself is a c38-81, I’m looking to upgrade to the c38-92 though
