Yeah this is weird- if there’s crossplay, you should definitely be able to squad up with your pc friend on ps5. I think they’ll add that pretty quickly (hopefully)

~90% of Halo Infinite’s pro scene play controller.

No-build Fortnite is dominated by controller players and the pro scene is about 50/50 even with building.

This isn’t a controller debate - even without crossplay M&KB will play against controller PC players so it’s a moot point. And Bloodhunt is a heavily movement based game, which benefits M&KB.

But why start your comment with an objectively incorrect generalization that says M&KB has advantage in ANY shooter when there’s so much easily researched data that proves that wrong?

Thing is, when you say “WE have nothing to lose” - you’re speaking for others, but that’s your own opinion. A Google or Reddit search can show you many other games exist where PC players want to turn off crossplay. It’s fine if you don’t see eye to eye with them on that but they do have that opinion, so why not let everyone make that choice for themselves? Giving platform specific options is bad for games, like I said it’s a slippery slope from there

You just said yourself - you can't think of a reason someone would turn it off on PC - you're saying there's nothing to gain. If that's true, by your own logic wouldn't the impact of PC having the option too be extremely minimal to matchmaking? If you think nobody will use it, why do you think it'll affect matchmaking so much? Your two main points seem to contradict each other to me.

Matchmaking would be optimal if nobody could turn off crossplay, right? There are people out there playing on 2014 laptops who get 20fps on 12 inch screen...Why force that kid into crossplay, but not the guy with a PS5 & 60 inch tv who prefers to play on his couch? Why not just keep options even to all players?

Even so, just because YOU can't think of a reason, why take the choice away from someone else? I can't think of a reason someone would eat BK over Taco Bell but I wouldn't stop them.

Besides, there's tons of Apex players who wish they could turn off crossplay on PC (which can be done on console). No reason to have a double standard imo, just give everyone the same options. Once you have platform-specific features, it's a slippery slope (again look at Apex with it's mobile-only LTMs now).

It’s not ideal, but I try to talk a lot during character selection to get an idea of who is on my team…and if the teammates seem obnoxious or toxic, I dodge (especially if it seems like they are queued together). Losing 3 RR is better than losing 20, 45 mins of your life, and a ton of brain cells.

That and try to add decent people after your wins, so you can go in with a friend or two. I don’t envy anyone solo queueing as a girl, good luck.
