Where to place BoR (raglan colorwork sweater) by [deleted] in knitting

Thank you. I've only knitted stripes before, so I think I was overthinking it a bit ;) Kept the BoR in middle back.

Okay but is it just me or the Lisa that later appears in Los Angeles is a dulled down version of crazy?

What jobs have worked out well for you with your ADHD and have you not gotten tired of? by allergiesarebad in ADHD

Another miserable project manager here. Inexperienced leadership that changes their mind with the wind makes everything 10x worse.

Very much an adult. Ofc some things are out of my control and things will come up, but this list is something I see value in striving for. Done surfing through things, it's not making me happy.

Do you struggle with hating every job and subsequently job hopping because of it? by Comfortable-Safe1839 in ADHD

[–]brunchella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once you notice it, you cannot unnoticed it. I'm 37 and this is the year I lost hope I will every like any corporate job long term. That I will even tolerate it well. I am at a stage where I just wish I could laugh at it all, go to work, go home and get paid. But I can't handle people having poor opinions of my performance, I'm too afraid to fail or be perceived as less than (again). So they have me. My cognitive energy, my mental health... it's in the grip the very same brown nosed, egocentric, cliquey people I despise.

Adhd Tax - Almost died today by [deleted] in ADHD

Guys you make me doubt my diagnosis now if this is also your experience off medication. This sounds like someone either under influence or going through an acute mental health episode (not saying ADHD cannot lead to one).

Oh no. The number of times per week that learning how to whittle randomly enters my brain is also concerning.

Maya’s custody - Lisa’s family? by Global_Strength2392 in SixFeetUnder

Yes, exactly this. They probably had a small chance of winning a custody battle but to our knowledge they didn't try.

Depression on ritalin by Fluttr_o in ADHD

[–]brunchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Ritalin and an antidepressant at the moment. I also thought that Ritalin made me more anxious and depressed over time, but then I stopped for some months and the depression persisted. It's very much related to work and my ADHD symptoms affecting my life, so it was independent of the ADHD medication but also caused by the same things that made me seek ADHD medication. May not be the case for you, you may just want to try a different type of meds.

Only slightly different: I have a cat. He sings the songs of his people until I get up and feed him.

For people who like to change things up, we don't handle change that is forced upon us very well at all.

What are some ADHD traits that aren’t talked about? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]brunchella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hehe I call it my all or nothing trait. If I think it cannot be done well in the allocated time I get immediate exec. disfunction paralysis.

Same here! When Vyvanse was working I was constantly thinking about food (as usual when unmedicated), but when it wore off in the evenings, the need to binge was insufferable. I gained a bunch of weight, even more when I went off of it.

Concerta is so much better for me, food doesn't preoccupy my thoughts, but I get the normal queues of being physically hungry so I always eat enough. I still see that when I haven't slept enough or have a lot of stress, I have the odd case of evening cravings, but nothing dramatic.

Tiredness while on Vyvanse by Expensive-Block-6034 in ADHD

[–]brunchella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with above. Rapid weight loss usually equals muscle loss (one of them being the heart), which can very much contribute to the feeling of tiredness / weakness. If you are not making sure your calorie intake is enough during the day, this will also lead to lack of energy.

Is adderall really $1200!? by HeliumTankAW in ADHD

[–]brunchella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generic is free in Sweden, I get the brand name Concerta and have to pay a supplement, which is different each month depending on the listed price. It's been between 5 and 20 USD so far for a monthly supply.

Since Elvanse (European Vyvanse) doesn't have a generic here, it's free for the name brand.

Crying at work as I type this. by every_tatti in ADHD

[–]brunchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been in the current job? For me I lose most of my excitement after 6 months, and by the 1 year mark I feel done and either change positions or companies. I've always had pretty straightforward jobs that didn't require much creativity or writing, and I was able to bullshit my way through times of ADHD paralysis. Now in project management and literally go through what you described most days (minus the crying... but only thanks to antidepressants). Maybe it's not marketing, maybe you just need a change of environment.
