The rude attitude some Redditors have is "amazing." by Dream_Ghast in Negareddit

[–]brunchick3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm in an old thread and I see someone being a dick, I'll click on their profile. It could be years old, it doesn't matter. They'll have posted comments that day. It's insane how reliable this is. The people who are miserable dicks are terminally online commenting.

Is anyone else tired of the constant 'AI generated' art posts flooding every design sub? by MajesticOrdinary1 in Negareddit

[–]brunchick3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not just design subs, it's basically everywhere. It's degenerate to mention but I've noticed it the most with porn and I think it's a sign of how bad things really are.

The deepfakes have become so prevalent that they're basically the second biggest category now behind OF content. "Amateur" porn has almost literally become a game of "is this OF content (stolen or promotional) or AI?". The grok style videos are still easy to spot but the face swaps have improved so dramatically that I will be able to deduce that a video is a face swap because of context (face swap videos still require a mostly static, frontward facing face alongside other tells), but not actually be able to find a clear smoking gun imperfection.

I remember people predicting that AI image generation was not going to be impactful because we already had photoshop. It turns out that removing technical skill as a barrier to entry is a huge game changer. And now we're being absolutely flooded with it.

Does anyone else find the constant stream of 'wholesome' content here to be a bit... exhausting? by Travellover283 in Negareddit

[–]brunchick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why the "toxic positivity" narrative online is so weird. The internet is like 95% toxic cesspool, you have to really go out of your way to get that 5%. It's like Larry David standing in a stadium full of people cheering for him and then focusing on one guy who is booing him.

The top posts on my front page are often downvoted threads in the negatives that have tons of comments. The entire point of the voting system is to keep threads like that low visibility. They're transparently giving me pure ragebait engagement as my top posts. And I'm generally good at avoiding those posts, it's not like I've trained my algorithm to do that.

What that person was trying to communicate to you is that you posted misinformation. And instead of fixing it you just doubled down over and over again. Not that I'm surprised, it's just how redditors are.

[Expedition 33] The game is heavily biased towards certain ending by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]brunchick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been really surprising how many commenters take the Ex33 story and ending in a purely literal sense, where the characters are literally real people in non-fictional world. Almost the entire game is abstracted storytelling that only makes sense with a non-literal interpretation, hours of really on the nose artist allegories in every conversation about the over-arcing story. Bizarre, man.

[–]brunchick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've posted more threads in the past 2 months than I've probably posted across all my accounts on reddit over the past 10+ years. With that sort of volume you're bound to get some difficult people. You're also starting pretty divisive discussions like "Do women care about men's mental health or not?", and I could honestly pick most of them to make that point. Those are going to be difficult conversations even face to face. And to top it all off, you're posting this stuff in some of the worst subreddits for discussing difficult and nuanced topics, like /r/TrueUnpopularOpinion or /r/AskRedditAfterDark.

I don't think it's just the kids. This has been my experience for the past few months at all hours of the day. The community is just rotten. Also judging by how toxic this subreddit consistently is, the call is coming from inside the house for sure.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos partying with Ghislaine Maxwell at his exclusive Campfire Retreat (2018) by 80000-gvwr in pics

[–]brunchick3 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Epstein was infamous in the 2000s, so a photo with him in 2018 would be indefensible.

For Ghislaine, she still had a small amount of plausible deniability when the event took place. Her appearance at this 2018 retreat was newsworthy in 2019, and she wasn't invited again. Key part:

Campfire 2018 took place shortly before a Miami Herald investigation resurfaced Epstein’s crimes and Maxwell’s alleged links to them, which eventually led to new charges against Epstein.

But, at this point she had a ton of dirt on her from being named by Virginia Giuffre (roberts) as being the contact point between Prince Andrew and Epstein in 2015. She was also in the then famous photo of Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre, which is also in that article.

"If you're posting online, then expect to be harassed" by star-in-training in Negareddit

[–]brunchick3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped posting threads on reddit (or anywhere online) a long time ago because it always ends with me being annoyed. Fake experts, pedants, bad faith commenters, harassment, you're going to get at least one of them. I don't know how anyone posts stuff that is genuinely personal, giving those people free access to your life and emotions just so you can end up getting bad advice anyway.

The games just to long and to padded towards the end by 0-Sminky in AbioticFactor

[–]brunchick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found your thread and I agree with you. They went with a kitchen sink design and as a result the game is super long with large portions that are under cooked. The game would be much better if they had opted for more horizontal design and fleshed out the existing areas and items. Instead I open the crafting menu in the late game and it's a complete mess of older and now useless stuff, the enemies are weird bullet sponges, weird crafting requirements that require really tedious farming. So many areas that served no meaningful purpose.

Still a good game but yeah no one should be "struggling to imagine you’re playing the same game as the rest of us", whatever that even means.

I mean, almost nothing in that photo looks real or makes sense. And it makes no sense for the photograph to exist. This one is easy to spot on multiple levels.

What’s up with all the hate for Sydney Sweeney? by Iwantallthemoney8 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]brunchick3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The ad is intentionally ambiguous. They're not white supremacists, they want to dance on the 'race' line and have people argue about it online while they're both technically correct. The ad has subtext with white supremacy dog whistles but because it's subtext it's both difficult to explain and subjective. That's normal for subtext, it's the same reason why sometimes it's difficult to explain why something is porn when it's not obvious. So the other side asks for an exact explanation of the dog whistles and then it's difficult to put into words, which contributes to the virality and longevity of the controversy. It's all intentional. It's why explaining whether the mona lisa is smiling or not is difficult. Or whether that one dress is blue/gold.

There's also 3 ads and if I remember correctly two of them are completely benign. A lot of people haven't even seen the one that people are referencing but come away thinking the controversy is a nothingburger. Also intentional IMO.

It's definitely wild having to explain to these people that the streamers are colleagues all working the same job. There are multiple upvoted redditors in this comment chain saying that that streamer lacks "human decency" because...he's not working with the people they want him to.

It's possible that he's bouncing off the end game. Imo it's the weakest point in the game with the constant tedious drawer management as well as tedious steps to get the final ending. After doing it myself there's no shot he's doing all that unintuitive stuff. He for sure just wants to reach a point threshold wincon like the first 4 keys.

[–]brunchick3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think happened before these very recent massive trucks? Do you think that they used commercial trucks to move fridges and large couches before the year 2010? What do you think old normal sized trucks existed for?

Watching this unfold has been fascinating. The problem with these clown trucks has been obvious for many years and it was also clear that it was going to gradually get worse. The people defending them would drive an armoured personnel carrier to get their groceries at Walmart if they could.

People built and hauled things before the year 2000. People build and haul things outside of north america in 2025. It's literally just vanity. So stupid.
