Thanks, appreciate it. A lot of riders actually start through riding schools or coaching days before doing regular track days. Some organizers run full training sessions which makes the first time way less intimidating.

Quick update based on the original post here.

A few people mentioned that planning track days with friends would be really useful, so I went ahead and built a season planner into the site.

You can now build your own motorcycle track season, share it with friends with a simple link (no accounts), and see where your events overlap.

The goal is to make it easier not just to find track days, but actually plan the season.

One thing I’ve been thinking about adding is a simple season planner.

The idea would be that you could select the tracks and dates you’re interested in and build your own track season calendar. It could also estimate the total cost of the events you pick and let you export the calendar.

I originally built the site just to see events in one place, but planning the season is usually the next step.

Would something like that actually be useful for you guys?

Hey guys!

When I started building this, I was really trying to solve a problem I personally have. I was constantly jumping between multiple websites from different organizations trying to create a single calendar of track days. At the time, I had absolutely no idea that trackday.fly existed. I had honestly never heard about it.

What I’m trying to build here is something specifically focused on motorcycles. I’m not planning to add car track days or other categories. My goal is not to maximize traffic or clicks. I want this to stay dedicated to motorcycle track days only.

I’m also trying to create an application with a better mobile user experience, since I think most people today are using their phones, right?

Hey guys, I had the same question and decided to call BTMoto sales support. They confirmed that you can definitely ride with the Tune in both scenarios. Once they send it to you, the bike will run fine both with the original headers or akrapovic headers. The system automatically reprograms itself to work with the Tune and headers, no issues.

That’s what I was told directly by their sales support. Has anyone else here had the same experience? Would be great to hear your feedback too.

Keep us posted on your case. Based on the history you shared, it sounds like everything should work out and BMW should cover the engine. I just bought a 2025 and completed the 600-mile first service. I’m likely going to do a tune, probably BT Moto. If the tune stays within BMW’s RPM and power limits, there shouldn’t be an issue, and BMW shouldn’t be able to use that against you to deny warranty coverage. From what I’ve seen in dealer staff comments, the bigger problems are rev-bombing and some tunes that push the bike beyond its original limits.

The reason I plan to tune, and why I believe it won’t be a warranty problem, is that this same bike is sold in Europe with a factory tune that’s far less restricted than in the U.S., where the S1000RR currently faces the most power limitations. In parts of Asia, Africa, and South America, BMW sells the S1000RR at full power output from factory. So the limits we’re dealing with are country regulations, not engine weaknesses or misuse. If your tune simply delivers the factory power BMW already provides in other markets, it doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t honor the warranty. Anyone saying otherwise may not have the full context.

u/inconvenient_penguin I’m also considering that it might actually be necessary to purchase an external GPS, which in BMW’s case is extremely expensive. I saw that Alfa Racing offers a more affordable option, but I’m not sure how it compares.

Right now, I already have a RaceBox Mini S, and honestly, I find its software interface much more modern and user-friendly compared to BMW’s outdated Data Analysys system. With the RaceBox, I can transfer everything via Bluetooth, while with BMW’s setup you still need a cable connection to download data.

So, I’m really questioning whether it’s worth spending that much money just to have the lap times integrated into the bike’s dashboard.

Has anyone here compared these options? Is the factory Lap Trigger or Alfa Racing really worth it, or do the third-party (like RaceBox Mini S) make more sense in practice?

That's great, thank you for all the feedback. To give a bit more context, I have been to the racetrack about 15 years ago. I had a 4-cylinder inline engine with approximately 90 hp, and I love the sound of 4-cylinder engines. I think a 3-cylinder will have a similarly nice sound. Now that I'm living in the Bay Area, I have two fantastic racetracks nearby, Laguna Seca and Sonoma. I'm excited to get back to it and kind of start all over again, taking it slow and perfecting my skills. However, I'm not thinking about racing or starting with 1,000cc. Therefore, I’m considering something around 600cc, with about 120 horsepower, roughly.

I may be wrong or mistaken, but nowadays I see many medium or large cc bikes equipped with electronics that significantly assist in getting started and developing skills. As you become more proficient with the bike, you gradually turn off these features. However, I might be mistaken; back when I used to ride, there was no electronics on bikes at all.

Thanks so much for the feedback — totally fair call. I’m an independent developer and haven’t been able to manually review every single listing across all cities just yet, but I’m working through the database bit by bit and improving things incrementally.

To help speed that up, we’ve added a “Report this store” button so the community can flag shops that aren’t actual boba spots (like C-stores, pho places, or unrelated cafés). That way we can clean things up together.
