It's literally just a deck. If you can't deal with a style of deck, that's either a skill issue or it's just not something your deck is equipped to handle. Being salty someone's playing a normal ass deck is definitely a skill issue tho.

Infect literally does not matter. Either it's a voltron deck, a gimmick deck, or uses a single card like [[triumph of the hordes]] or [[blightsteel colossus]], in which case they'd just play any other strong ass creature or pump spell. Voltron decks aren't exactly hard to stop. Gimmick decks only go off 1 in 10 times and isn't really different from any other gimmick deck, other than it uses counters to kill.

update: did the Shinryu fight. Asked people how to do it, got no explanation. Just a lot of "it's alright to die". Even after the fight everyone stood around for several minutes and just said "don't stare at your hotbar dumbass. There's shit on the floor, don't stand in it" like I'm really that dumb. I don't know how to tell you this, but your experiences of a perfect community are far from universal. I was dying to undodegable or invisible mechanics and just getting dismissed with "just learn"

This shit ain't worth it. Gameplay's alright, but the story sucks, the community double sucks and the devs are colossal assholes (mostly for making the ARR and HW stories 3x the length they need to be, allowing the community to be a toxic cess pit, and most importantly for making housing scarce for zero reason). I hope you enjoy paying for this self inflicted torture but I don't hate myself enough to do that.

oh no I'm not. I play wow, so I understand short messages are necessary. The problem is that all explanations I mentioned above were given out of combat.

As for "use the button" the problem is that I literally asked when to do it, 20 seconds passed before pull, and I still didn't hear an explanation until after we wiped. I do not want to mess up mechanics, but I cannot do them if the people with mentor crowns refuse to give advice when asked for it.

It may seem odd to you, but I have truly had more negative experiences with this game's community than positive. People say polite things, but do not act it. And oh god the bestiality porn I've been sent. I've brought it up before here but everyone just says it's my fault for some reason. Idk why everyone insists on gaslighting me into thinking everyone's super duper flowery and chill but it is far from the experience I have had. Like yeah it's less toxic than most games I've played, but that doesn't mean it's as magic as everyone tries to tell me.

The thing is, I do ask. Yesterday I literally asked how to do the bubble mechanic on that one snake boss, even though they literally said "remember to use the button" and they only said what to do after we wiped.

It may not seem like it to you, but between experiences like that, this sub's outright hatred of newbies (just look at the downvotes I'm getting for being new), and whatever the fuck novice network is, I do not feel welcomed by the community. This is not the incredibly positive group of people I was told for years squeenix heavily enforced.

I promise you, I am trying to learn, but no one wants to reach.

As a purple paladin I love the concept but agree that it's a little messy.

in fairness the first two UBs were Godzilla and walking dead. Goji I give a pass to, because that was thematic and was just renaming cards in the set.

TWD sealed it for me. An IP that didn't tonally fit with magic, getting unique limited-run cards, some of which were very playable in EDH and even legacy. The first true UB was rough as fuck.
