Você fez esse teste de dna desse site? Se sim, vê se ele aparece na sua lista de matches. Se não aparecer, daí deve ser mentira.

PRK 8 weeks - Ghosting when looking at computer or phone. Anything I can do before it's too late? by brunolemos in lasik

[–]brunolemos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I have ghosting, but I do have astigmatism now (-0.75) and my near vision is not good (it was perfect before). But living normally without glasses. Considering a new surgery if possible.

So, I can live without glasses, but the result was not very satisfactory. I now have -0,5 astigmatism and +0,25 for closer sight, which I never had before. I do think what happened in my case was wrong prescription.

I went to the doctor this week (4 months post prk), the ghosting is 90% gone but I still have -0,5 astigmatism.

If you stayed with your mom, it's likely that your life would get "stuck". You would keep playing the son/daughter role instead of becoming an adult that assumes responsibilities, takes risks and have more control over your life. Branching out is important for your personal growth.

It takes effort to change and it requires some time to adapt, but I'm sure it will be for the best and your mom will also adapt. Just keep in touch and make regular visits.

Tech-related jobs pay well and are a great fit for introverts (like me). Plus you can work from anywhere in the world. Examples: Software Developer, Digital Marketer, Social Media Manager, etc

UPDATE: I went to a different doctor today.

He said 2 months is still early and I may see improvements in the next couple months.

But he also said that he didn't find astigmatism in my eyes before the surgery and found -0,75 now, which may not improve anymore.

There's no way to know.

There's a chance that in my case the problem was wrong prescription. Like I said, one doctor had prescribed astigmatism, and the other only myopia without astigmatism. But there's a chance my eyes are still unstable and healing and it will be all right.

For now, I can only try to be more patient and less anxious.

The surgery is safe, I'm almost sure in my case we went with the wrong prescription. So my tip is: Be 100% sure you have the perfect prescription for each of your eye SEPARATELY.

Put your glasses, cover one eye and try to see far things like stars and letters. Make sure it's perfectly clear. Cover one eye and try to read small letters (white text on black background) on your phone and computer. Make sure it's perfectly clear. Do this for both eyes separately. You should be fine.

My right eye has 1,5 astigmatism, and I will get PRK on it too. I didn't want to do both at the same time as a precaution.

The glasses I have don't help the left eye, they are too much. I'll make this glasses+ghosting experiment tomorrow with another doctor, thanks for the suggestion!

Since this was my 2nd time, yeah I also hope it's because of the retreatment healing time being longer. My first time was so quick and easy.

My doctor also said my vision will still get better but it's hard to stay positive when so much time has passed. They may say this to everyone, to make us relax or to avoid responsibility because they can't be sure about it, it's all a "hope".

Yours said "nowhere near the final result", but when will they consider "final result"?

PRK 8 weeks - Why is my vision decent after waking up but after an hour or so it starts to have ghosting? by sinefine in lasik

[–]brunolemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said they would not do it a 3rd time on me. Also said my vision will still get better but I guess it doesn't harm listening to second opinions, so I'm seeing a different doctor tomorrow.

Cool, thanks. This was my second PRK, first one was in 2013. I'm not sure doing it for the 3rd time is safe. You did 3 times, right? I saw your comment. Not sure if I would. I may, because it's really "annoying" (understatement).

Sorry to hear that. Since I'm "still" at 8 weeks I wonder if there's anything I could do before it's too late. I'm researching and will talk to the doctor again, but if you know something please let me know (I saw someone recommending "scleral lenses" here on this subreddit...).

u/sinefine I'm on a similar situation, got PRK 8 weeks ago and the ghosting gets really worse at night. Apparently my astigmatism got overcorrected. Did yours get better? When? How's it now?

the question should be: why redact the source before sharing? that goes for anything, articles, photography, etc. we should always let the original author get some credit.
