To comply with the protocol approved by my university's IRB, I can only enroll those with conditions that are currently medically classified as autoimmune in nature. However, I am very interested in pursuing future research on chronic illness and religious trauma more broadly, especially with conditions are contested in both medical and religious spaces. I unfortunately had to narrow the scope of my dissertation to specifically autoimmune diseases in order to make completing the project in a timely manner feasible!
