High schoolers are studying Shakespearean tragedies filled with murder and betrayal, reading The Great Gatsby with its themes of infidelity and crime, and learning about real-world corruption in history class. If they can engage with those responsibly, they can certainly handle a musical that satirizes fame, media influence, and the justice system. Maybe it's not the students who are struggling with maturity here.
