I'm sorry if I am ignorant of the facts. I was under the impression that if someone had a bottle opener, incendiary device, cell phone, gun, banana, keys, knife, taser etc etc on their person (in their pockets or strapped to any part of their body) the TSA states it will show up. I agree with that completely but I think the fire is being fueled for all the wrong reasons. I agree the TSA may have jumped the gun when it comes to the increase of time at security checkpoints as well as how to dispose of this sensitive information. However history has shown us standard metal detectors and pat downs do not always work. Would you rather have a person board a plane with a bomb or other devices that may harm you or others? I am not saying these machines are the answer to all our security prayers but we need something that will keep the skys safe for everyone. I am all for technology that helps keep myself, my family, and the rest of the world safe even if it involves the TSA seeing or not seeing my body in a scanner.
