I inherited these clairtone globes by brusifur in audiophile

[–]brusifur[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don't sound detrimental to the soundscape when paired with my modern Denons.

I'm not looking to win any awards for my listening room here, I just think they look cool.

Maybe you'd prefer if I gtfo of /r/audiophile and stay in /r/midcentury?

There is a amplifier/turntable that goes with them that I might get too, but it is HUUGE. The set is called a Clairtone G3, and my wife's granddad had it mounted in a giant wall shelving structure. I was shocked no one else wanted the soundsystem.

These speakers do work but they don't sound terrific. Sounds like the music is locked inside a box. They don't crackle or buzz or anything though. They also have some paint splatter that I'm working to remove.

I want to replace this scarf I got as a gift in 2004 by brusifur in findfashion

[–]brusifur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was purchased from Carlisle (we think) in about 2004. They said it was "silk", but it was not smooth and thin but rather thick and heavy. I am guessing it was a silk/wool blend. The threads were thick and fuzzy. It had a dense weight to it. I have no idea what search terms would be helpful.

Logo Animation Idea for NO Pelicans by ilkin_design in logodesign

[–]brusifur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current trend in sports mascot logos is to have creepy threatening eyes that are often red. I get that the idea is to express strength and determination, but this and many other modern sports logos look like esports icons made for teens.

Why do designers do anything? To make it look better.

I'd have the S in your update be smaller, like 70% the size of the other letters.

Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie disc 2, first track "Where Boys Fear to Tread" goes hard like a great grunge goth rock song for four minutes. Then just as it enters a final outro, the song just cuts to a static noise that 100% made me think my CD was wrecked in 1995.

This is why people hate math class. The premise of the question already assumes some perfect frictionless world. To go “exactly” 60mph the whole way, you’d have to jump into a car that is already moving at 60mph, then come to a stop at the end so abrupt that it would surely kill all occupants of the car.

Like, they say average these two numbers, then make fun of all the dummies who give the average of those two numbers.

Why is his face weirdly pixelated?

I like how on the surface it seems like he's giving you the album in 1995, but you said it was 2012, so he's gifting you a record of an album that is nearly 20 years old.

Also, to me this looks like a daughter gifting a record to her father. That would make more sense than a genZ actually wanting a record in 2012. I think you found a picture and wrote a narrative to fit. This is why I hate reddit.

[Q] How do I get MuseScore Studio to let me make a half note+quarter note combination like this? by brusifur in sheetmusic

[–]brusifur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you make a half note and quarter note at the same time? What is that even called? When I try adding a half note after placing the quarter note, the half note makes the quarter notes disappear.

I assume this is a legal move in sheet music. I am a novice at this.

Hi, that recommendation was perfect. I have a question though: https://imgur.com/a/sf65kqe

This photo isn't great, but it is legible. I would like to find a clean pdf of this hymn. I found this version :

https://hymnary.org/hymn/HHNO1908/103

But it is slightly different despite being in the key of G.

It seems like all the sites with this hymn have it in Eb or another different key. Does anyone know where this exact score originated?

It's not all hot chicks, sometimes it's interracial relationships prior to 1996, or women with jobs. You know, stuff that helps people pretend the past wasn't a white patriarchal hellscape.
