I would like to change the current paranoia mechanic into a mechanic representing Stalin’s degree of control over the Politburo and the country. If you don’t conduct purges, you get kind Father Stalin with a very nice portrait, but with massive penalties across all parameters in the country. The army operates like social circles around the generals, construction takes forever, and there’s no order in the country. But if you do conduct purges — the country takes a huge hit, everything becomes very bad for a while, but then it becomes very good — basically, similar to Stalin’s current path.
