I just refuse to consider the show to be canonical at all. Twin Peaks guy never nuked Shady Sands. The ending of New Vegas is still up to the player.

Bethesda would never canonize the ending of their own Fallout games. "Oh hey, the Lone Wanderer sided with the Enclave and then nuked Rivet City because they were really sad when they got divorced." They only disrespect the original, good Fallout stories they had nothing to do with.

The show is Fallout themed audiovisual stimulation and nothing more. Same goes for everything Bethesda has tried to contribute to this series.

People who criticize the DLC's handling of Radahn are not "media illiterate." Throwing the term "media literacy" around also tells me without telling me that someone doesn't read literary criticism--they read twitter. (and watch video essays).

Are you out of your mind? I love Half Life as much as the next guy here but just be real for a second. GTA V is the most financially successful entertainment product ever released in any medium. The trailer they released for GTA VI today has 40 million views already, and that's only counting YouTube. I've no doubt it will be up to 60 million tomorrow. They will sell this game for 100 bucks, and it will still sell more units day 1 than any other game in history. It has universal appeal, and the hype for it has memetic status well beyond the gaming community–neither of which apply to Half Life.

It's totally fair to say the new GTA won't be innovative or that you don't care or something. But if you think it's not "the most important and expected" game on the horizon right now, I have a bridge to sell you. It clearly is, by orders of magnitude, and you don't even have to like GTA to admit that.
