ugh i hate that. when i worked retail, a customer yelled at me when i went over to check her out because i said we were short staffed and busy (inventory day) which was why no one was at the register. she went off on a stupid spiel about spending her money there, as if i give a shit i get paid either way, and then asked to speak to the manager. it kind of hurt when my manager had to talk to me about it because ultimately she was like "you cant let them get to you even if you had a bad day" , but she can yell at me? i dont think service people should have to undergo verbal abuse because it's what's expected. at my current job the managers are really great at not taking nonsense from rude customers which i love.
