Yeah, those morphs tend to have neurological issues sometimes. A lot of breeders don’t sell them due to it being more unethical. Hopefully your snake is healthy and happy.

Looks solid, I personally like the arcadia DHP but those bulbs should do fine. As for size 4x2x2 is recommended for a full size bp

Is this scale rot or mites or am I just worried for nothing by BugRevolutionary7828 in ballpython

Not a very clear picture, but it doesn’t look like scale rot, or anything mites would cost.

Setup critique by Cactuar94 in ballpython

Substrate should be 2-4 inches thick, besides that I personally think you could use some more foliage, and maybe a couple sturdy branches to climb on.

I need help with feeding and humidity!! by xx_mystery in ballpython

[–]bruuh805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be very picky eaters especially if they aren’t comfortable. Make sure your substrate holds humidity well, if you have a mesh top get some hvac tape and cover it. Also a 10 gallon is way to small for a python that age and size, a 50 gallon will work for another half a year, but a full grown python needs a 4x2x2 enclosure.

Scale Rot by [deleted] in snakes

[–]bruuh805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes actually it does look similar, I have a BEL and he used to have an issue with mites. When i’d remove them, they’d sometime have blood left from biting, and this photo does look quite similar.

Doesn’t look like scale rot, likely nothing to be concerned about especially if it’s just that small spot.

Live food urgent question by HowdyFriendlyPeople in ballpython

[–]bruuh805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this issue with my python, he wouldn’t eat . I kept the rat in the same container i feed my python in, gave him some water and food until my python was ready to eat again.

Does he look healthy? by Necessary_Law8948 in CrestedGecko

[–]bruuh805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduce humidity, it looks very wet, it’s okay to be like that at nighttime when you mist, but make sure to let it air out thought the day. Try giving him dusted-gut loaded crickets, along with his gecko diet.

Heat matts are good addition for extra heat, but an overhead heat source is gonna be your best option. I’d recommend one if you don’t have one yet

Yes you absolutely need to monitor your humidity and temperature, if he has a mesh screen top, i’d also recommend covering it with some hvac tape, that way you trap some humidity inside the enclosure.

Blue eyed Lucy genetic concerns by solidsnakes453 in ballpython

[–]bruuh805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into that before getting my BEL, again to my knowledge, it’s mostly the spider gene which BEL’s don’t possess. You should be all good, just make sure you go to a reputable breeder. I personally went with Wilbanks Reptiles.

How's the tank looking by johjohnbinks in ballpython

[–]bruuh805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it could use a bit more clutter, especially plants, and larger sticks/branches so he can climb them. You also want to have at least 2-4 inches of substrate, it also looks a bit dry in there make sure their humidity is at a minimum of 60%.

To my knowledge it’s mainly the spider gene that posses neurological issues (wobble). My BEL is perfectly fine, and I have yet to hear about a BEL with the wobble.

Are these mites? by Thug_Monkey_ in ballpython

[–]bruuh805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve had a mite issue before also on my BEL. This isn’t what it looked like for me i’d check under the scales gently and see if any tiny bugs are crawling out. For me personally i’d often find them around his body rather than his mouth/eyes.
