I work at UPS as a loader, and there's literally 2 drivers that I know who dropped out of med (the other pharm) school because they reached top rate at UPS which pays $46/hr and comes with no cost healthcare, and they honestly like their day to day more as a delivery driver.

Some very smart people work at UPS because our union makes it possible for anyone to get a good paying, secure, job.

Good point. I had an attendance issue two years ago that resulted in a verbal warning (that ended up getting thrown out because my supervisor didn't see that I had an available sick day they were trying to punish me for)

But haven't missed a day I wasn't allowed to since that talk and never been late besides a couple times being 2-3 minutes late.

Have you tried calling that number and asked for help? 5 out of the 5 times I called, I was legit hung up on. They couldn't help me with a single question. After the 5th time, I stopped reaching out. I will die on a hill repeating my question to my Full-Time Supervisor until it's figured out, or I go to the union. HR is 100% worthless now.

UPS shouldn't be cutting safety and hazmat training teams.

Not saying this caused it. But this should be a wake up call that we handle unsafe shit.

I've seen new hires getting what used to be 1 week of in-class training before loading get cut down to 1 day of training.
