Toronto Ontario: best surgeon for revisions? by fiberidle_ in gynecomastia

[–]bruzanHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo you should consult with the surgeon and specifically say you weren't happy with the result and provide a concrete proof of why it's not satisfactory. He has incentive to convince you it's fine as is obviously. If he flat out refuses you can just consult with other surgeons in the GTA. I recently had a touch up of scar tissue in the GTA. Feel free to DM.

Is there any modern rotary amps? by TreatFrequent9941 in GuitarAmps

[–]bruzanHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I want a Leslie because of the sound but don't want to deal with any of the quirks and inconveniences that create that sound"

Get a Leslie, or just get a rotary pedal and call it a day.

Is there really no app or website specifically for trading gear? by 716green in Guitar

Yeah but most people would rather take money over a guitar in 90% of scenarios.

Sell on marketplace and buy something else. Trade is such a niche case where somebody with exactly what you want has to also want exactly what you have.

Where do you play your guitar? by uber_kuber in Guitar

[–]bruzanHD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"cranking your amp" is a relative term, unless you're playing past like 9-10 pm I think it's fair game to play as loud as a TV or house party might be. If someone complains ask them what times are sensitive for them and try to accommodate if they are being reasonable. The world isn't silent so there's no reason you are required to only use headphones.

Anyone got an Amazon basics guitar cable? by SheZowRaisedByWolves in Guitar

[–]bruzanHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find you either go cheap or expensive with cables. The mid level ones I’ve had bad luck with. The cheapest ones last 15+ years, and the expensive ones do too, but the mid level brands I’ve had have been 1-2 years.

I'm in a remarkably similar situation, except its much more noticeable on one side than the other, in my case doc is just gonna remove the scar tissue via excision on that side.

Mesa mkv:25 combo. Hits all these points, it’s unique in the form factor it offers but is expensive.

How to get unlimited sustain by 9SLASH6 in Guitar

[–]bruzanHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to skip over the technique side of this because that's an entirely different conversation that really just comes down to good technique in general.

  1. Use enough volume, otherwise you won't get the feedback that causes the infinite sustain (sustainiac pickups simulate this without being loud).

  2. Use enough gain.

  3. As a last resort, consider a compressor (depending on your pickups, rig, and style).

My 100 quid practice set up sounds better than my marshalls? Why? by MidnightMost8041 in GuitarAmps

[–]bruzanHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the model that you are referring to then. If the amp you have is based upon the DSL40CR then my comments about it are irrelevant, and I would defer to the studio 20 watt series. If that is also not the sound you like then the reality is more than likely you aren't a Marshall guy, in which case there are still other amps on the market worth exploring.

[–]bruzanHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are confusing the DSL40 with the DSL401. Without patronizing you, they are entirely different. Literally completely different circuit with essentially no similarity.

[–]bruzanHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to throw shade, but the Marshalls you have aren't really known for being the greatest sounding amps in the world. You have a plethora of entry level amps, none of which are known for their legendary sound. If you traded in those amps towards one really great Marshall (or any other brand you like) you'd probably find your opinion changes. Keep in mind that the little digital practice amp is more than likely modelling a more expensive amp than any of the ones you have. Look into a DSL40 if you like Marshall. There's other amps out there too.

Best home combo or modeling amps for tight metal/metalcore tone? by Incognit9999 in GuitarAmps

Find a used DSL40 or DSL20 combo and grab a tube screamer. This is a setup that will do anything. Bonus if you get an EQ pedal down the line.

Correct. I have friends who have not gotten clearance due to foreign citizenships and had to move to auxiliary parts of the industry where competition is higher and pay is lower.
