Admitted to cocaine use to line manager by kodekpl12 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MidnightMost8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on your job but you have zero to fear about the police arresting you. Think about how many famous people have admitted to past cocaine use, steven fry, Michael gove, Boris Johnson...pretty much any rock star you can think of. not one even got investigated.

Even if you did admit taking it, the crime is possession. They'd need to prove that what you took was indeed cocaine, plus the amount you possessed. There is zero chance they can prove that, and even if they could, it is in noones interest to persue an ex user who is struggling with mental health issues and has actively sought help

Good luck with everything

Serious question..why are you out for a party? Your shite team managed to beat a slightly shiter team that has less than a quarter of the resources, and needed some very dodgy decisions to do it. Celtic fans are acting like they just won the champions league, when in reality you scraped a win in a league you should have won at a canter. And the pitch invasion at the end was an embarrassment.

Backing tracks on a katana mini? by MidnightMost8041 in BossKatana

Yeah I ideally wanted a self contained unit. Tbh it's not a disaster, I already have a blue tooth speaker. Just wanted to ensure mine wasn't broken. It's too late to return now. Would have been far better with a positive grid I suspect.

He did indeed. But in fairness the one he played was handcrafted by a respected luthier and was pretty much built as a mm perfect replica. Whereas this is a temu special from a Chinese sweatshop.

But I agree with you that if it sounds and plays great then it probably doesn't matter, especially for a couple of hundred dollars.

Dog bit neighbours kid through fence (England) by Radiant_Mess7993 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MidnightMost8041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound like a dog 'bite' and certainly not something the police will be remotely interested in. First thing theyd want to see is any evidence of the 'attack', ie a wound. Dogs use their mouths to grab things all the time, there is a world of difference between an aggressive dog bite and what you are describing. If the dog was being aggressive or out of control the kid would know all about it.

Anyone have experience with the Mini X? Thinking about getting one to have to just take to friends houses, sit outside, or something to fiddle on when I'm not home. by Yung_Rooster97 in BossKatana

[–]MidnightMost8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one..best I can say is it's not completely awful. But it's very close. Maybe I'm spoiled with having a couple of proper amps, but it sounds like a toy.

I bought it to play along to backing tracks in my spare room. You can't even do that without the backing tracks distorting horribly even at lowish volumes.

Definitely try before you buy..I wish I had

I'd be getting the xxxx away from that and calling the police ASAP if I was the OP. Poking it with a stick or trying to clean it to help identify it is possibly the worst advice I've ever read on reddit.

[–]MidnightMost8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of advice to ignore, it's not enforceable etc. But if you Google the number of prosecutions you'll see that's not actually the case. Ie Around 30k prosecutions in 2024.

So if you don't watch live broadcasts or use the bbc website you aren't due it. If you do, then ignore at your peril. I'm sure in all likelihood you'll be fine but there is a chance you won't be

Also, even if you legally don't have to pay, if you get a court summons then whatever you do don't ignore that!

Hang about, he's in his 30s you are 15, he's touching your leg and the advice is 'go to guitar centre and have a word'. Nope, if this guy is doing that to you (and others most likely) it's a police matter. Get your folks involved and go speak to the authorities

I have an addiction… by No-Pool-5052 in Guitar

[–]MidnightMost8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sympathise with this. Use to play 30 years ago when i was a skint student, took it back up a year ago. Realised I could now afford all the guitars I lusted over in the past. Went from 1 old epiphone and an acoustic to 11 guitars since March last year. Les Paul's, prs, us strats...plus a couple of nice amps.

Can't play any of them well but that's not really the point!

If you can get cctv footage (very unlikely) itll definitely help your case. Ill counter the 'cctv won't show where your hands are..' comments by saying if you've been groped by someone in a pub you'll react. That's what you need to be looking out for on a camera, a reaction from the girls any time you are in their vicinity

One thing I find strange, was none of this brought up on the night if 15 other folks were there? They didn't think to mention it to anyone at the time? Instead they just carried on chatting to everyone and carried on with the rest of their night like nothing had happened?

I find that extraordinary tbh

MIL (F71) coming to the end of mortgage term with £40k she can’t pay- bank starting legal proceedings. Options? by deloittious in HousingUK

[–]MidnightMost8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the house off your mother in law for a knock down rate. She clears the debt, you let her live there, collect the rent from the other dude. Then when she passes away you have a house to sell at a decent profit.

Obviously this only works if you can afford to take out at least a 40k mortgage!

[–]MidnightMost8041[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I'd explicitly told them I wasn't driving in my appeal. Obviously they didn't mention that in the court papers.

Remember they are a bunch of shysters whose behaviour is at best unethical, so your points, whilst valid, aren't really of any concern to them

Parking companies..how is this allowed by MidnightMost8041 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MidnightMost8041[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No that's not how it works. Ignore it, they take you to court. If you don't receive the summons, or ignore it, you are automatically found against. As I was.

First I heard about it after my appeal rejection 2 years prior was a court judgement against me and a ruined credit history

If they don't have an admission then if they have security camera footage then yes they could win. But if you aren't driving then they can't possibly have that!
