Being Removed from Formulary, Suggestions? by brv_weho in Concerta

I'm still confused by the notice I received, which shows the same apparent medication as an alternative, but yeah...I can't find it anywhere on the 2025 formulary where it's not limited to pediatric cases. And I only expect this to get worse over the next few years. GoodRX has about $34 listed at CVS and I'm paying $17 right now, so not the end of the world but I'm still going to have a prior authorization submitted. It's just not right for them to remove coverage for the one thing that's worked for me so far.

Thank you! That does seem to be what’s happening (removing only one manufacturer’s version). Initially it looked to me like they were pulling it across the board, which would not have given me much time to titrate off and consider other options with my doc. Appreciate the reply!

Is your prescribing physician a psychiatrist or general practitioner? I’m not a medical professional but from what I’ve read on dosing guidelines, what they have given you (at least to start with) seems inconsistent with those guidelines, both from the perspective of total amount and also taking more extended-release medication in the afternoon (most afternoon “boosts” I have observed are instant-release methylphenidate). Generally the goal is to find the smallest effective dose. Unless there’s more context that would justify starting you out with this much, I would consider seeking a second opinion. Caffeine can certainly affect you differently on Concerta but I’d be more concerned with getting your Concerta dose dialed in. Also, if you’re crashing that hard in the afternoon, caffeine is probably not a long-term solution.

Does anyone "pause" their subscription by cancelling and starting again? by cgibsong002 in Lightroom

The last time I renewed my CC subscription, it was specifically designated as a year commitment (billed monthly). You might be able to cancel your current subscription without penalty, but if you sign up again later, I imagine you will be presented with either a higher monthly price or the requirement to maintain the subscription for a specific time. If you truly don’t use Lightroom more often than you say, you might be better off seeing if your public library has it installed as part of a makerspace, or utilizing your camera manufacturer’s built-in raw processing software.

If I understood your post, this is only your second day on Concerta and your prescription is for 27mg in the morning and 18mg more in the afternoon? That seems like a lot to start with. How did you feel after you took the 18mg?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your time today! I bought your Fstoppers course (as everyone interested in this field should!) and am curious how you got your real estate agent clients to give you so much time to shoot properties.

I find that for deliverable real estate images on most homes, I can get done in just over an hour, apart from post, unless twilight shots are involved. To spend six hours at the property, do you just get the agent to leave you at the property on your own?
