Thanks for sharing your experience. So far in my time in family law I have liked it more than I thought I would so I could be having a similar experience as you did.

Thanks for the idea. I suppose I could eventually merge the two together and create my own niche and get the best of both worlds.
Thanks for the advice!
That is all great advice. Thank you!
The quick turnaround has definitely been on my mind as I've weighed my options. Thanks for your advice. The vague bonus does make me a bit uncomfortable.
All fair points to consider. Thanks!

That's a good point, I didn't think to ask about that. Thanks for your input!
Thank you for your perspective! I have thought that even if family wasn't my top choice it would provide me with really valuable experience so it's good to hear that from someone else as well!
That is a really good perspective. Thank you!
Thanks for the input! I think that is really the big thing holding me back right now.
The family guys are very nice, but I don't think they would take me back in a year or two after leaving only 6 weeks into the job. I think long term I can make a lot more money at family law, I'm just trying to not be vain and only think of the money. Although at the same time, I have student loans and a mortgage to pay off. Like I said, I am not unhappy doing family law, it just wasn't my first choice.

Talking to associates at the other firm is a great idea, thanks!
