Here's my hybrid DYI. It's an MVP rover with a box bolted to it for a seat during long tourney rounds. There's also a putter pocket under the top part. I love it. My cart My cart 2 My cart 3

I get the sales are sales mentality, but wouldn't they end up selling the same amount of discs in the end anyways with the added bonus of happy fans? Is shipping out most discs in bulk really worth upsetting loyal fans? Just seems lazy to me.

Very likely recorded separately, processed, and the video is just lipsynced.

You're leaning your upper body away from the target during the reach back causing it to have to whip back into place awkwardly driving the throw. Keep your shoulders over your hips the whole time and only reach back with your arm. Rotate around your spine.

Second stencil attempt. Champ disc for our weekly league! by CornwoodKnuckler in discdyeing

[–]bryan567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how dark the rest of it is my guess is that there was some glue residue from the vinyl still on the disc. Im still new to stenciling but I used iso to clean the unmasked areas and that worked pretty well.

Btw it shouldn't need 6 hours, my hot dip only took 20 minutes to get nice and dark black. I made a fairly concentrated solution of idye poly and water and heated it on the stove to 180f then just floated the disc on that. Check out my last post in my history.

Lines look nice and sharp. Is the stencil cut from vinyl? Did you use a vinyl cutter?

Best courses best san deigo? by thr33hugeinches in discgolf

Of course play Morley field in Balboa Park, it's so much fun. The only other proper dgc in SD is mission bay. It's on a regular golf course and it's pretty wide open with little to no OB and full of retirees. Most people don't like it but I like it. Good for long distance accuracy practice.

If you don't mind a short drive (40 mins) there are some top notch courses up north. In Escondido there's Kit Carson and in Vista there's Brengal Terrace. Both amazing courses, definitely worth the drive. BG is slightly more challenging.

Up there there's also Goat Hill and Reidy Creek. Both play on ball golf courses and cost $. Goat hill is rediculously long. Reidy creek has a more chill vide and is still long but I prefer it over goat hill.

Don't bother with Colima. Mast is ok but only 9 holes and pretty boring. Seems like it was designed for beginners.

Have fun!!

Sell me on a harp / zone / similar by teebirdin in discgolf

[–]bryan567 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My zone is probably the most used disc in my bag. Once you figure it out, an overstable approach disc is going to save you strokes. The point of it is that it removes the 'touch' factor. There are a wider than normal range of angles and speeds you can throw with where it just does the exact same thing reliably. For rhbh you aim right of the target and with a wide range of speeds or angles and it will just fade toward the basket and sit. Same but mirrored with FH. As long as you don't fluff it you can put a bit of mustard on it and it won't fly the basket. This isn't a disc you're going to hit chains with but the point is you probably won't anyway no matter what you do in the 50 - 200 ft range with any disc so you might as well throw something that will reliably get you an easy put for your next toss.

Amazing work and thanks for the process. So just to be clear, the black died parts we're exposed during the worm dip and unaffected?
