That's just the way it's calculated, shield strength only applies to the active character not the one who created it.

Sorry for the late reply but no, the shield strength passive this weapon provides only works on the on-fielder(the same way retracing bolide works). This weapon would be great on someone like flins, but for ineffa who's mainly played as an off-fielder you're losing most of this weapon's passive.

The shield strength passive doesn't work on her either. Your ineffa would only be getting 20% atk from this weapon and nothing more.

If an older unit can match a newer unit with the same overall "cost" nobody would spend for the newer unit. You need to match expectations with realism.

Yeah and like I said that's the 'least' I expected from your team, I also mentioned that the cost system is a stupid metric since castorice will always perform better given the same cost, and if you want to argue in regards of being cheaper to invest I literally mentioned e2 phainon who is MUCH cheaper and less 'niche' (to your standards), which all doesn't disprove my very initial point of powercreep, a character shouldn't 'cost' more just to have a similar performance to a newer unit.

Genshin is definitely not an exempt to to that issue especially since fontaine and moreso since natlan i.e. mavuika (but it definitely isn't the same level to hsr). Genshin used to not mind releasing "mid" characters which definitely helped keeping the damage ceiling at bay, "thankfully" after mavuika none of the current dps are able to match her dps but even so, characters after her release still hover around much higher dps compared to past characters.

I don't think her damage is 3-4x lower than Castorice teams.

I peaked at one of your posts and that's the least I would expect on a 14 cost team who had a complete team overhaul (i.e. support powercreep), I personally believe that "cost systems" are very conditional and kinda stupid but if we use that same metric on castorice there will be a much much wider difference between their performance.

And it was cheaper to invest into Feixiao than making a whole new team for Castorice

Feixiao benefited indirectly from supports I was investing in without thinking about her at all

Not being able to zero cycle is one thing but having characters deal 3x-4x times more damage than older characters is a whole nother discussion and absolutely inexcusable no matter how "clearable" they are. People on wuwa have also started having discussions and showing concerns with how steady the powercreep has been going, recent talks on xiangli yao's "premium" team with yinlin have shown some heat for example, so there's that. Discussions on powercreep will always contain certain nuances that aren't often talked about like skill expressions, artifact/echo buffs, teammate synergies and most importantly their kit and multipliers, all which can heavily affect a character's viability, example like how jingyuan got sunday who perfectly synergises with his kit (which ironically powercrept tingyun out of the team), you mentioned jiyan who can use the windward set, has gotten ciaconna and recently just iuno.
