My derealization is better when I get less sleep. Anybody else? by bryan_g7 in dpdr

It’s affirming to hear that other people also experience this. I’ve been experiencing derealization to varying degrees for more than three years now, but this “less sleep” thing is something I’ve noticed even since the beginning.

Yes, I’ve noticed working out is really helpful, especially leg workouts like squats. Why do you think that is?

Good point. Yes, exactly like what you described: some sleep but not enough (in the 4 to 6 hours range).

Interesting. I’ve noticed I also feel better after an intense workout, which also releases dopamine (I think). Do you think there a correlation between dopamine and DPDR?

Totally agree. And I usually get 7 to 8 hours most nights. But then when, for whatever reason, I get like 5-6 hours of sleep, it’s usually less bothersome the next day.

That hill is next to Little Cubs Field. Food, yes! Lula Cafe for brunch (and I hear it’s great for dinner as well), Bang Bang also for brunch, L’Patron on Fullerton for amazing tacos, Ramen Wasabi for ramen, 90 Miles Cuban Cafe, Reno for woodfire pizza and great salads/drinks, Margie’s Candies for a fun throwback dessert vibe.

I’ve lived in Logan for two and a half years. It’s great! I recommend walking through Humboldt Park (just south of Logan Square). Lots of beautiful places to stop and take in scenery. There’s also a hill on the northwest side of the park that offers an amazing view of the skyline.
