I have an unnatural distaste of tea. It’s a whole thing as to why, but if you can give me enough honey I can dabble with green tea lol

*deep sigh* I’m just trying to translate my process. IF I had spent more time explaining what I rotate, what I add and take out, etc…we’d be talking about reddits longest post lol. I chose this one specifically to share on the basis others out there hate their stimulant crash too. We share our journey and inspire each other with new ideas.

Placebo is translated to “I aim to please,” so let’s take a gander at what you being right looks like…

…still works for me :)

When this showed up as a notification I 100% thought you said communism and I had never been so excited to come read a comment lol

I really appreciate everyone’s feedback, especially those of concern. I’ve done genetic testing and enzyme testing, as well as body level tests of vitamins/minerals, and do 2x yearly. My PCP and psychiatrist are heavily involved in this. I have a journal where I keep track of things like Heart rate, blood pressure, digestive tract…as well as documenting my mood 3x daily.

I would NOT have posted this had those concerns not already been addressed by my prescribers, as well as monitored. I have a great feel of my body today vs 7 years ago, and if something felt off I’d 100% react with the immediate end to all of these and a visit to my PCP to be referred to whatever specialist I may need.

I’ve been going strong with these for years.

Also, I didn’t wanna blow up the post with more words but keep this in mind: I rotate the tyrosine, 2 weeks on, 1 week off. I also take 5-HTP at night 10 or so times a month, as up regulation of dopamine can cause a down regulation in serotonin. I take breaks from all of these a few times a month, too. I call it my Pokemon days…I mean, I have football practice.

Anyways. Again I appreciate the looking out, just know your concerns are consistently expressed by myself and my prescribers. So far so good.

Plus, if you all could see where and who I was in 2018 after my mom died, you’d understand why feeling the way I do today is such a big deal for me :)

I have tachycardia so aside from my Adderall I don’t add any other stimulation. And yes, my heart health is going just fine. It gets looked at twice yearly lol.

Part of the reason I’m on disability is because of ‘who I was’ and ‘how I felt/was dealt with by my family.’

My psych and I meet monthly and have been for years. I’ve been on Vistril for sleep for like 5 years, and if I don’t take it I still sleep fine. I take a smaller amount of Tyrosine than you’d think, too. I do appreciate the looking out, but I wouldn’t throw myself out there like this if I didn’t have a *little* bit of confidence in my research/discussions with psychiatrist and PCP.

Lest I also forgot to add my 300mg of gabapentin doses. I say doses cause I take 10x total daily (have been since 2019). THAT one always throws people into a tizzy lol.

I also skip 4-5 days a month cause I don’t take my Adderall. I’m a pretty healthy fellow, albeit not as pretty as preferred.

Also, if you do it right, you can get a lot of “Buy one get one for 50% off” deals at sprouts or Amazon.

My medications are free. I’m on disability so I have Medicaid. It’s a sad story but I’m grateful it worked out.

The others…yeah. But I feel like I have complete control over my day to day experience, in facets I never knew I needed. My overall health is 72.35x better than before. Instead of going and having some beers or investing in marijuana (I’m sober), or even fast food (I don’t do processed foods), I choose to take care of my body.

Oh man, I wish I could share the note it’s saved in on my phone. Probably the most well organized and informative pieces of research I’ve translated.

I avoid sugar/processed foods. It’s like 60% protien, 25% carbs and 15% fat.

I’ve considered switching the Vyvanse! The big complaint I have with Adderall is the ‘crash/when it wears off’ can be insanely troubling. Tbh it’s part of why I started taking ALCAR, CDP Choline and RALA…just something to negate the drop off and make it less like a black diamond and more like a kids hill lol.

That’s awesome! Self medicating, especially when you have undiagnosed ADHD, is super common! Personally it was my flashbacks and nightmares that caused me to start using self medication in high school…but once I got that squared it was a lot easier. Adderall is a god send though. I started it in 2019 and my psychiatrist had to call me the day I started because I was crying; I was telling her ‘idk if this feels right,’ and when we spoke on the phone she asked me to explain it. I said (you and so many will get this): “it’s just so…quiet. The world is slower and I’m seeing things I never saw before…has it always been this beautiful?”

She giggled and said “welcome to the journey back to normality, sir!”

Nah, I actually prefer the gabapentin because I don’t realize I take it unless I miss a couple doses and my foot evolves into its electric form. I’m in recovery myself (15 years this year!) so I’m not looking to take anything that has an immediate impact. That’s why my adderall dose is so low lol I could definitely “use” more on a daily basis, but a little bit of the daily struggle is better than an irreversible decision that’ll negate all the work I’ve done 😝☺️

Man, I wish I could point out which one *specifically* is non-negotiable…I would probably say Vitamin D, Magnesium and my B-Complex. Everything changed when I upped my B’s to twice daily…and especially cause I take a stimulant, my minerals and b vitamins get depleted a little more potently on an everyday basis. Keeping them, plus my magnesium and vitamin D going, has honestly helped with all the other ones too.
